well .... that is tricky. But according to Sixty from Geekhack he is gonna make a tool and post a guide how to do it.

I mean, if you tried and like black, leave as is.

But if you wish it was softer to press, then i think you should seriously consider ghetto red which is just changing the spring with custom made ones to get a similar feel as a Cherry mx red but on the cheap.

By the way any chance you got a laptop you could bring ? I think 1 laptop by Quest won't be enough since people are bringing MANY keyboards. So if use 1 laptop to test will take ages haha

So the things to make an appearance are as follows

On this page Diatec also says this keyboard has new firmware: "designed for gamers, maximum transmission rate, blah, blah, blah". It is not clear if the new firmware is for the Red Cherry version only or for all new keyboards.


If like cherry mx red, but you want it in 10 keyless, then this is probably your best bet. However i think Leopold new models will also be sporting a red.

Just received my dye sublimated cherry corp keys. they are very nice :}

They don't have any shine like the double shots i had. Also the texture is very nice. The double shots were slipper; where as this are just nice and aren't as slippery.

What hard drive ? When is this ??? How many tb space ??


Such as ?? The reason i picked near the cuve is because there is car park space, and a sitting area enough for a dozen or so people.

45g and 60g to actuate is huge difference.

45g is about the same as the cherry mx brown, but probably lighter. If you like linear (i think i do) then red may be nice.

Brown tactile doesn't have as much bump as the blue so it almost feels like a linear when bottoming out.

Uh.... matter of opinion but i don't think.

Both are linear, difference is blacks are 60g to actuate, and red is 45g.

Black gets harder the further down you press on the key. 60g to me is very tough :/

Just typing key is ok i guess, but when pressing down all the way and holding when moving in say counter strike or other fps, it's very unpleasant.

Cherry mx brown i use is way better for typing and holding down keys for moving around. So i say brown is best for typing and gaming.


Red might be as well. At the gathering i hope to find out :}

7500 IS THAT A TYpo ???

So not worth it. But if your bill gates that is peanuts, so money would be an object for those cases.

I don't know what switches the optimus uses, but it's a waste of money.

well brown is tactile NON CLICKY!

However when u type u still hear the keys smack the plate of the ducky. Rubberdome keyboards you don't have that because it's got a rubber membrane at the bottom which absorbs the impact of the keys.

Is that the noise you are referring to ?


If you hear a spring sound, then i don't it's normal. Did you identify which key it is ? Worse case scenario you have to desoler that key, open up the switch and check whats wrong with the spring inside. Could be defective Then again you should go to Geekhack forum and ask for a 2nd opinion as well before you do anything.
