QUOTE(kona|kona @ Jan 7 2011, 08:45 PM) *off topic abit Most keyboards are 2KRO. Meaning only 2 keys can press same time. If you try to press a 3rd or more, it won't register.why i cant tekan all keys when i play O²Jam ? does it related with the mechanical of keyboard or something ? 6KRO also isn't sufficient because O2jam uses 7 keys, sdfghj. NKRO means there is no key roll over. Meaning you can press as many as you want and it will register. NKRO isn't necessary a mechanical keyboard feature. As i understand it, Microsoft's sidewinder keyboard may be NKRO i think although it's a rubber dome. Anyway 6KRO should be sufficient for 99% of games out there, except o2jam and games like it that require 7 or more simultaneous key presses. QUOTE(jasmineivan @ Jan 7 2011, 10:10 PM) Well not necessarily.Example the Topre is NKRO but it doesn't support USB to PS2 adapter. So only their PS2 models NKRO actually work. Same for Deck legend, they cannot use USB to PS2 adapter for NKRO. If you want NKRO for their keyboard, you have to get the PS2 version. Ducky/Filco/Leopold support usb to PS2 adapter NKRO This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jan 7 2011, 10:48 PM |

10 keyless
Pros: 1. space saver on your desk. More room for your mouse to be positioned closer to the center. 2. portability less weight to carry around if your a lanner Cons: 1. If you need numpad keys your screwed. However keyboards like the Topre 87U have a virtual numpad; however that keyboard is expensive. |

I am told that the Cherry windowed keys aren't exactly doubleshot.
The window is doubleshot, but the legend isn't. They used some sort of special method to print the legends, but it's as durable as a double shot so i am told Anyway clickclack says he can do a good replica of the Cherry windowed keys but he cannot do the legend. So if you want from him it will be blank but have a doubleshot window which is of a better quality than the Ducky's. He says it will be pricey; so i am waiting on a price quote. 7bit says SP has the option to do a rectangle, circle or triangle doubleshot window key without legends. It won't look like the Cherry doubleshot; but it's the next best thing. I'm pending a price quote for this which i will get on Monday. Capslock, scroll lock and numlock you can buy or trade from people with old Cherry keyboards. The capslock won't be compatible so you will need to mod it by removing the stem and centering it to be compatible on a Ducky keyboard (which is what i will be doing with the help from a Geekhack member) I posted the full details how i am going about making the Ducky dk-9008 to have a 100% full doubleshot set using the old school Cherry white/beige color theme over in this thread http://geekhack.org/showthread.php?t=14384 @Cyclonechuah Leopold spacebar isn't same like Ducky. Theres been some discussion over at geekhack that the doubleshot mo isn't compatible with Leopold keyboards :/ This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jan 16 2011, 01:58 AM |

QUOTE(N1ck @ Jan 20 2011, 05:30 PM) Moogle, can you comment on the difference between cherry brown switches and your g15? Is cherry brown switches lighter? G15 feels so mushy and stiff compared to the cherry mx brown.I was working with a dell membrane keyboard. Keys are very light and when I went back to my 7g I just could not get used to cherry blacks again. So Im looking at cherry browns now. I could immediately tell the difference, and appreciate the Cherry much more. When i type now, the keys are actuated much smoother and i don't need to second guess if the key was actuated or not. My typing got better as a result :} I use my keyboard using PS2 to get NKRO. I don't feel limited at all like this. Using the USB was fine, but i just leave it as PS2. Even after i remove the plug and put it back in, the keyboard still works. I think for PS2 it need only be plugged in when booting up, after that you can remove and put back the plug and it will still work without having to reboot the pc. Both the G15 and the Ducky can disable the windows keys. But i like the Duckys method, press FN+F9; whereas the G15 had a stiff rubbery switch you toggle. The ducky is also neat that i can flick between music tracks, pause/play, or mute. Works for my Foobar :} This post has been edited by Moogle Stiltzkin: Jan 20 2011, 06:39 PM |
