6850 going to cost ~RM750 and according to sources, it is as easy as 5850 to overclock its core to 1GHz (with some voltage bump) and it gives GTX460 a run for its money. going to buy if it drops down to ~RM500

QUOTE(saturn85 @ Oct 22 2010, 10:29 PM) hmm, this is just the estimation, but taking into currency exchange and shipping cost. probably it will cost RM700+ when it reached our shore and then drops to ~RM650.QUOTE(saturn85 @ Oct 22 2010, 10:33 PM) AMD already mentioned they want accomodate for some naming conventions used on their fusion products, so it will be saturated with many models coming next year, thats why they moving 57XX to 68XX |

QUOTE(AMDAthlon @ Oct 22 2010, 10:43 PM) by the given reason of why they moving up their model numbers, they are probably naming fusion as 62XX -> 66XX maybe. So i actually dunno why AMD wanna name their fusion as their GPU model. As fusion is completely different from GPU, it is not a GPU alone but also a CPU. Added on October 22, 2010, 11:10 pm QUOTE(Moongrave @ Oct 22 2010, 11:01 PM) check earlier replies, it will be slightly below 460 1gb or same price. but expect to be pricier when it just launched here. This post has been edited by sparrowed: Oct 22 2010, 11:10 PM |

QUOTE(Riddhy @ Oct 25 2010, 01:32 AM) 6850 vs gtx 460 1gb what do u guys think? 460 got two version and 6850 is head to head with the 768 version and the same price range too, but based on reviews, 6850 > 460 768mb, and based on the overclcok ability of 460 vs 6850 OC&unlockable probabilty to 6870, i will get 6850 instead.gtx 460 1gb can oc upto 850 6850 around 920 which one will give more avg fps at max core oc? QUOTE(saturn85 @ Oct 25 2010, 01:48 AM) http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon...ts,2776-19.html dont compare two different categories, the 460 1gb is not at the same price range as 6850. 6850 is meant to compete with 460 768mb.![]() compare the Radeon HD6850 overclocked and EVGA GeForce GTX 460 FTW. |

QUOTE(moshpit21 @ Oct 25 2010, 02:09 AM) seeing the tom's chart, there is no reason for 5850 price to drop that much, since 5850 is easily to be OCed to 5870 performance.. correct me if i'm wrong???? i dont think AMD need to drop 5850/5870 as well, it wont help them. They have upcoming products to replace their 5850/5870 in just few weeks, the only reason i can think of dropping 5850/5870 is to clear stock. and btw, 6870 is quite a good replacement for 5850 as well. |

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 30 2010, 12:29 PM) May I ask, is there a huge differences between GTX460 1gb OC with ATi 6870/6850? Coz thinking of buying either GTX460 1gb or the new 6800 series... u have to compare based on price segments:6850 ~ RM600-650 460 factory OC (variable prices based on oc rate) ~ Rm 750-900 6870 ~ Rm850 6870 beats 460 even in OC, so if u wanna go for 460GTX, i suggest u to go for 6870 |

QUOTE(DarkSilver @ Oct 30 2010, 04:30 PM) hmm, if this is the case, lagi not worth to get 460 super clock dy QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 30 2010, 04:44 PM) Performance isn't really much of a different and if only 6800 series is available in near my store now, I would already made an order but... I already order the green one the most important thing is the price and performance, in this case, u can get cheaper solutions by saving at least 50-100bucks as well thanks for answering. Next year, hopefully I can get 7000 or 8000 series |

QUOTE(Racerx @ Oct 31 2010, 11:22 PM) moore's law dude, you gotta accept that it's a fact.plus why wouldn't they?the HD6800 will sell as good as the HD5800 since the performance is really close, plus the die is smaller so it's cheaper to make there are no moore's law effect between 5 series and 6 series. 6 series is a tweaked version of 5 series and in fact, 6 series contained of smaller die area than 5 series.i've noticed a lot of butthurt HD5800 owners recently, here and in garagesales |

Overclockable to 99% of 6870's performance. at RM600, 6850 is a real bargain |
