6850 going to cost ~RM750 and according to sources, it is as easy as 5850 to overclock its core to 1GHz (with some voltage bump) and it gives GTX460 a run for its money. going to buy if it drops down to ~RM500 biggrin.gif

hd6850 cost rm750, i think rm6xx can get? unsure.gif
*
hmm, this is just the estimation, but taking into currency exchange and shipping cost. probably it will cost RM700+ when it reached our shore and then drops to ~RM650.

QUOTE(saturn85 @ Oct 22 2010, 10:33 PM)
yea, agree with this statement.
HD6700 let people feel it is more mainstream. biggrin.gif
*
AMD already mentioned they want accomodate for some naming conventions used on their fusion products, so it will be saturated with many models coming next year, thats why they moving 57XX to 68XX

oo so it is related with Fusion product eih?

Maybe inside AMD Fusion APU featured if HD 6700 series? whistling.gif
*
by the given reason of why they moving up their model numbers, they are probably naming fusion as 62XX -> 66XX maybe.
So i actually dunno why AMD wanna name their fusion as their GPU model. As fusion is completely different from GPU, it is not a GPU alone but also a CPU.

anyone know about pricing???
*
check earlier replies, it will be slightly below 460 1gb or same price. but expect to be pricier when it just launched here.

dookie's post:

6850 at 599 is reasonable

actually i would expect 6850 to cost Rm500 eventually, this chip is smaller and 40nm is much matured compare to 5850 days so they have more yields. I hope it can drop to RM400+ biggrin.gif drool.gif

6850 vs gtx 460 1gb  what do u guys think?

gtx 460 1gb can oc upto 850

6850 around 920

which one will give more avg fps at max core oc?
*
460 got two version and 6850 is head to head with the 768 version and the same price range too, but based on reviews, 6850 > 460 768mb, and based on the overclcok ability of 460 vs 6850 OC&unlockable probabilty to 6870, i will get 6850 instead.

compare the Radeon HD6850 overclocked and EVGA GeForce GTX 460 FTW. brows.gif
*
dont compare two different categories, the 460 1gb is not at the same price range as 6850. 6850 is meant to compete with 460 768mb.

haha, why not, since bro Riddhy really ask like this.
he really want to compare these 2 cards.
i just give him a reference about how these 2 cards perform. biggrin.gif
*
he shuld get 6870 instead, same price as 460 FTW super OC biggrin.gif anyway, I believe 6870 can b pushed further to 1ghz with some voltage bump.

seeing the tom's chart, there is no reason for 5850 price to drop that much, since 5850 is easily to be OCed to 5870 performance.. correct me if i'm wrong????
*
i dont think AMD need to drop 5850/5870 as well, it wont help them. They have upcoming products to replace their 5850/5870 in just few weeks, the only reason i can think of dropping 5850/5870 is to clear stock. and btw, 6870 is quite a good replacement for 5850 as well.

960 shader only

sapphire no stock in viewnet if not sure grab 6870, rm749 only

cheapest for 6870

rockrock still didnt have stock when i want to shop there, probably arrive at night they say

so after survey, viewnet cheapest after nego
*
nobody will buy 5850 and 460 FTW anymore if really priced at RM750 with plenty of stock , i really think 6850 should cost RM500 only.

May I ask, is there a huge differences between GTX460 1gb OC with ATi 6870/6850? Coz thinking of buying either GTX460 1gb or the new 6800 series...
*
u have to compare based on price segments:

6850 ~ RM600-650
460 factory OC (variable prices based on oc rate) ~ Rm 750-900
6870 ~ Rm850

6870 beats 460 even in OC, so if u wanna go for 460GTX, i suggest u to go for 6870 cool2.gif

Why Radeon HD6870 is RM 850??
Sapphire Radeon HD6870 is RM 749 at Viewnet currently.
*
hmm, if this is the case, lagi not worth to get 460 super clock dy biggrin.gif default clock can already beat 460 OC at lower price.

Performance isn't really much of a different and if only 6800 series is available in near my store now, I would already made an order but... I already order the green one whistling.gif

thanks for answering. Next year, hopefully I can get 7000 or 8000 series notworthy.gif
*
the most important thing is the price and performance, in this case, u can get cheaper solutions by saving at least 50-100bucks as well biggrin.gif this money can buy a great dinner for ur gf dy. cool2.gif

moore's law dude, you gotta accept that it's a fact.plus why wouldn't they?the HD6800 will sell as good as the HD5800 since the performance is really close, plus  the die is smaller so it's cheaper to make whistling.gif
i've noticed a lot of butthurt HD5800 owners recently, here and in garagesales
*
there are no moore's law effect between 5 series and 6 series. 6 series is a tweaked version of 5 series and in fact, 6 series contained of smaller die area than 5 series.

Overclockable to 99% of 6870's performance. at RM600, 6850 is a real bargain drool.gif drool.gif drool.gif
