GeForce GTX 580 pegged to be more than 20% faster than the GTX 480

QUOTE
NVIDIA is always at work on new video cards and GPUs for different user groups that it can sell and put on the market to fight AMD and its ATI video cards. One of the better cards from NVIDIA over the last few years was the GTX 480 and if you were a fan of that card's performance, you will really like the GTX 580 that is coming according to DigiTimes.
The GTX 580 is supposed to offer 20% faster performance than the GTX 480 it will replace according to DigiTimes sources at video card manufacturers. The 580 will be a GF110-based video card and is expected by the end of November or the beginning of December according to sources. NVIDIA will also reportedly have new GPU families coming out next year.
The same sources to DigiTimes that in 2011 NVIDIA would be offering new GF112, GF115, and GF119 GPU families. NVIDIA is also expected to unveil the new Kepler GPU by the end of 2011 and the successor to the Kepler GPU called Maxwell is also reportedly in development already. AMD also has new products coming in November or December according to the sources.

NVIDIA's next-generation Fermi-based graphics chipset, the GeForce GTX 580, was said today to be shipping in late November or early December. The design is estimated to be about 20 percent faster than a GTX 480. It would be followed by 2011 releases of mainstream cards using the GF112, GF114 and GF119 architectures, which would mostly pare back the GF110 architecture the GTX 580 will use.
Contacts for Digitimes added that NVIDIA's Kepler design, built on a 28nm process, would start replacing Fermi only towards the end of 2011, with its Maxwell replacement due in 2012. The rumors correlate to a recently leaked roadmap from 4Gamer.
