hi, anyone can explain (in layman term) what exactly is '2e recovery'? always found someone answered something like 'you can flash the rom PROVIDED you have 2e recovery enabled.." what is it actually?

you know that we can go to "recovery mode" by pressing three buttons simultaneously, right? (power, volume UP, home)
recovery 3e is the latest one included in leaked froyo.
3e does not support flashing update.zip which is unsigned. u need to downgrade to 2e.
u need 2e if u want to use custom rom. custom rom is great cause you don't need computer to flash all those files.
you just enter clockwork mod recovery (it needs 2e) and then flash the custom rom in .zip extension.
its as easy as that.
i'm using darky's jpm with steel theme. really fast rom, TBH.

Thanks lOrDjAbU for ur xplanation..still a bit confuse though. Is it true if I say by default our phone is already '2e recovery' enabled in eclair if we can go to recovery mode by pressing those 3 buttons? and '3e' recovery is the same but it is meant for froyo?

go for JPO, Doc's rom no need Odin.

if you want to use Odin then must remove lagfix, no need unroot

Hi, I'm aready on Doc-Kalpik's version 6 and applied EXT4 lagfix. Do I need to disable lagfix first before flashing to Doc's version 7.5? Would suffice just to do factory reset?

hmmm.... i m downloading JPO.. LOL!! which should i go for?
last unplug 10am now left 78%, i did not receive a lot phone calls .. only few sms... no internet =.=||
btw.. i need a question here below:-

01. Disable Voodoo if have it installed (create a folder named “disable lagfix” inside the “Voodoo” folder on your internal sdcard and reboot). If you’re coming from sztupy’s kernel, disable all lagfixes.
=this means that i (create a folder named “disable lagfix” inside the “Voodoo” folder on your internal sdcard and reboot)? thats it? no additional things needed?

02. Make sure have the 2e recovery. If you don't have 2e recovery, see FAQ.
=what is 2e recovery? isit like the clockmode? anyone got details for this? i tried the FAQ but i scare i understand it wrongly

03. Make sure you have a backup of your /efs (not mandatory, but highly recommended).
=how to do this and y?

04. Factory reset is NOT required, but is recommended. Wipe cache and dalvik cache if you’re not performing a factory reset.
=reset on the recovery mode?
sry for too many question here, i really scare i read n understand wrongly on the FAQ

Based on my experience doing this b4;

01. yup. just restart. you'll hear sexy voice saying something & you'll be back to the original state b4 voodooo
02. if you are on eclair, should aready in 2e recovery. but if you've upgraded to froyo chances are you're on 3e recovery (default for froyo). if you're on 3e you need to downgrade to 2e
03. just recommendation. better to do but i didn't do mine before. just google for instruction
04. not sure myself :-(
