It works perfectly but as a reminder to those having sets with 3 buttons disabled :

1. You must use this fix , go onto download mode - NEVER , NEVER use ADB from terminal to go into download mode. There is a high chance you will brick your phone especially if you want to try Froyo roms. I noted if you try ver 2.1 roms , no such issue
2. Whenever you change rom, you must reapply this fix

This is from my experience bricking the SGS three times !!

Then you are lucky !! I have brick when flash 2 Froyo rom but successful in another Froyo. But was successfully in all the ver 2.1. So be on safe side, I dont use ADB to go to download mode anymore. This is just my tip from experience.

The SGS Service centre already recognize me going there 3 times . I also malu if have to go 4th time even though is free service

I am just relating my experience with the SGS bricking 3X and getting it reflash at Samsung Service Centre. Yes, I just sold it this week. The main reason why I sold it is mainly because I cannot tahan the laggyness and mediocre performance even with the lagfix and unofficial Froyo. I always tend to compare with my HD2 android and Dell Streak. So let go it while still can fetch some good value. So far I still feel my ex Google Nexus is the best Android I have used , if it is more than 4" screen screen I'd have kept it

When you use root explorer to manage files - cut/copy/paste , you have to enable RW : just select it at the top - there is a small window showing it

Did you go into text editor mode? Press down on the build.prop file, select to go into this mode. BTW I am using the paid version 2.12.4

My previous sgs was with 3 button disabled. I brick it 3 time. First time I send to SAMSUNG service centre spore , they reflash rom got it back in 3 hours. Second time as was in kl ask SAMSUNG service centre kl, say cannot do probably need change motherboard. Took it back to spore, reflash got it back in 2 hours. Third time similarly brick, got it reflash at spore in 2 hours. All the 3 times was FREE service

Based on my experience and experiment with it, I would advise that if your phone has 3 button disabled you can still safely flash rom. Try not to use adb from terminal to go to download mode when using Odin. This is especially for certain froyo roms. I noted it was ok for eclair roms. After I got my sgs back the 3rd time, I have flash again twice froyo no problem as I have learn from mistake.use the method given at xda to apply fix to have 3 buttons enabled and physically enabled download mode

Mine is AP set I bought from a hopeless shop at Lowyat plaza. The guy give me tons of excuse and say he need send to spore to do since kl cannot do. Has even cheek to say I have to wait for 2 to 3 months. Lesson I will never buy from them again.

Did you select provider/telco ?? Choose TMobile US. If you use Ebnabler, press down on your choice to have the popup menu to select. On Access , just tab on it to select
