QUOTE(Crossover @ Nov 2 2010, 12:12 PM) u sync with outlook? that mean u use kies? For me, I sync Outlook Calendar with my gmail.com Google Calendar using Google Calendar Sync tool on my work laptop. This way, everything in my Outlook Calendar is always online in my Google Calendar.if not using kies, how u sync it with outlook? Kies always gimme problem, so i didnt use it for a long long time. infact, i removed it from my lappy. http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin...py?answer=98563 Then, on my phone, I sync the calendar with my gmail.com Google Calendar. Just can't seem to find a way to auto-sync my Outlook Contacts with my Google Contacts without installing Kies - doing it manually now (export from Google, import in Outlook). Ya, for the contact wise, i also doing the same as u now.. haiz.. Mark/Space Missing Sync for Android is expensive pulak.. http://www.markspace.com/products/android/...nc-android.html And Android Manager WIFI does not yet currently support Outlook Calendar sync for Froyo handsets.. http://global.mobileaction.com/download/android.jsp This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Nov 2 2010, 03:25 PM |

QUOTE(thornduck @ Nov 2 2010, 09:48 PM) While I've been reading about rooting the phone and stuff, I'm not sure what I should be doing first, etc. Is there an extensive step by step page anywhere? Bought the phone from Maxis if that matters (software, etc) If you're still new to rooting and the other stuff, I'd suggest that you use the phone as it is first and get yourself familiarized with the features of the phone. Oh, and don't forget to go over the loads of information that have been compiled and presented in the first few postings of this discussion thread. After that, I'm sure the next steps will be clearer to you. Welcome to the SGS family, thornduck. P/S - Nothing special about the Maxis sets as far as I know (other than the new batches having recovery boot mode disabled aka 3BR disabled). I bought from Maxis too, and am using it under Digi. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Nov 2 2010, 09:59 PM |

QUOTE(koj @ Nov 5 2010, 03:57 PM) Reading verywhere that we need the 3 button recovery working before attempting any flash. Tried 3 button on mine, goes into task manager. Not the recovery mode. So how? Can I still proceed with flash? 1. 3BR is not required to flash firmware via ODIN. However, if things mess up during the firmware update, 3BR may be needed to get things back up to speed. 2. Did you attempt to initiate 3BR by pressing Power+Home+VolUp while the phone was on? You should try it with the phone off. |

QUOTE(koj @ Nov 5 2010, 04:10 PM) was hoping to use Kies registry hack to flash not ODIN. Ya, tried 3BR on off mode and got it working, thanks. Just wondering when it is needed to come to his stage, what do you do next besides just looking at the yellow andtoid??? Hold on, there are 2 modes, download mode which is Power+Home+VolDown (Android construction robot pic) and recovery mode, which is Power+Home+VolUp. Sounds to me you went to download mode, if I remember correctly.BTW, if you want to flash via Kies, then you probably don't need download or recovery mode for the upgrade task. Read up more on the Kies registry hack upgrade and good luck to you. |

QUOTE(Fornx @ Nov 9 2010, 12:53 AM) i wanted to reformat my sd card.. but inside got those DCIM, Samsung and svox files.. if i reformat those files will be deleted too? those default vid n pics ? is it safe to reformat? If you mean sdcard as in the internal sdcard, then yes, you format you lose all but I am not sure what you mean by default vid and pics. I normally backup my internal sdcard to PC or the external sdcard before formatting the internal sdcard. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Nov 9 2010, 06:42 AM |

QUOTE(Meepomop @ Nov 9 2010, 07:13 AM) This is what I did on my Win7 laptop (32bit). 1. Download drivers for Galaxy S from softpedia.com 2. Unzip the drivers to a folder 3. Plug in the phone (in download mode) to laptop 4. Set Windows to browse the folder and find drivers it needs 5. No problems with ODIN after this http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/S...ndows-x86.shtml http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/MOBILES/S...ndows-x64.shtml If absolutely nothing is prompted or detected when you plug in the phone to the PC, then maybe you should try another USB port, or reboot the phone again. QUOTE(ken2291 @ Nov 9 2010, 10:00 AM) I came from JPM with super-optimized kernel, and before that I had the universal-lagfix kernel. Since speedmod kernel builds on top of super-optimized which in turns builds on top universal-lagfix kernel (I think), no data or apps were lost when I 'upgraded', even though I had originally enabled lagfix, kernel_tweaks, and misc tweaks via the recovery mode menu.Performance wise, since I only had speedmod kernel for 2 hours, is pretty good.. slightly quicker than super-optimized, I think. The reason I moved away from super-optimized was that the later versions (> 3.3) has overclock/underclock features which seem to be causing weird problems for me and also draining my batt quicker. Battery-wise, can't say yet. Need 1-2 weeks of monitoring to be sure. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Nov 9 2010, 10:08 AM |

QUOTE(angel-girl @ Nov 9 2010, 10:07 AM) For me, no. I like these kernels (universal, super-optimized, speedmod) because I can disable lagfix, or even change lagfix schemes without losing data (the kernel has features to backup everything to internal sdcard before changing/disabling/enabling lagfix).Added on November 9, 2010, 10:18 am QUOTE(ken2291 @ Nov 9 2010, 10:10 AM) yes. try have a look on tis http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823442 Wah lau.. another kernel to try.. there're lots of positive feedbacks on tis kernel, even our own forumers This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Nov 9 2010, 10:18 AM |
