QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Nov 6 2010, 08:28 PM) guys, I'm thinking of getting an android phone, and one of them in my mind is the Galaxy S (the other is desire Z, but that's a story for another day). So far I'm very impressed wit the reviews and stuff. I hate how TouchWiz looks but I guess I can get it replaced with LauncherPro. y ppl nvr complain tat iPhone is expensive?? Thing is, today I went to a shop and inquire, the fella tell me the SGS has lots of problem and complaints. I acknowledged that I know the GPS is faulty and the RFS lag issue, but he insisted that it has more problems than that. What specifics, I dunno coz he mumbled stuff like 'very expensive, got lots of problem, a lot ppl complain'. In the end I gave up and left. So, are there such extra other issues with the phone? Answers are much appreciated. I know this is a SGS thread so there's probably more praise than curses. Just trying my luck... This post has been edited by ken2291: Nov 6 2010, 08:46 PM |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Nov 6 2010, 08:54 PM) i've read that prior to asking the fella. Only GPS and RFS lag highlighted so far. I heard abt d fixing in GPS from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830743I'm especially attracted to the damn good performance running Quake in the video vs Desire. So i dun really care about the Quadrant or Linpak benchmark results vs the Desire Z. @ken2291, yeah no news so far about 2.2 update fixing the issues mentioned. The shopkeeper fella recommended the original Desire, saying 'it's 2.2 wor, SGS only 2.1'. That time I confirm he know bollocks about phones. the guy in the 1st post said it fixed the GPS. Hardwarewise of coz Galaxy S |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Nov 6 2010, 09:24 PM) I ask if he got sell, he ask me why i wan buy and told me the 'problems', so I think he didn't take in SGS. He has a Galaxy 5 (five) on display though. Mengsuan you from Puchong right? I'm refering to the HTC shop at Digital World IOIMall. tis guy from Samsung Mobile, Pertama Complex sellin at RM2250 16gb ori. mayb u can negotiate a cheaper price from him??Is there a reason shops are selling this thing so expensive? Was quoted one at 2599 another at 2699. Crazy... Added on November 6, 2010, 9:30 pm QUOTE(Bap3 @ Nov 6 2010, 09:27 PM) thanks!! QUOTE(pcboy @ Nov 7 2010, 10:33 AM) As you know, some apps will run by itself automatically. Try to use Automatic Task Killer and set the frequently to kill apps every 30 minutes. it's nt abt batt drainage. I jz flashed doc's rom n the battery indicator is nt in par wif battery life.imho, running apps on the background drain battery Added on November 7, 2010, 11:23 am QUOTE(sengasdf @ Nov 7 2010, 11:02 AM) I think ppl muz b confused wif tis. the app is called Root Explorer itself n it's paid, nid to enable superuser b4 usin itAdded on November 7, 2010, 11:27 am QUOTE(xeNOS @ Nov 7 2010, 10:10 AM) Thx for the info bro. QUOTE(frankgan @ Nov 7 2010, 11:39 AM) To recalibrate battery, what I did was to run the battery flat (means turn off by itself) then charge it until full and keep it charged for another hour. While on charger, i go to terminal emulator and typed this: thanks!! found another way to recaliberate battery usin Root Explorer too. by jujx back then in thread no.4su rm /data/system/batterystats.bin (no reaction after this but its normal) and restart my phone, thats all. I did this to backup my efs folder - When I use normal explorer to view the efs folder it was actually empty but as soon as I did this, a compressed folder appeared in my sd card and the efs folder actually contains everything necessary to restore the IMEI. THIS IS FREE! USE ADB: type: adb shell su busybox tar zcvf /sdcard/efs-backup.tar.gz /efs thats it usin root explorer, go data - > system , delete batterystats.bin |
