My SGS has been naked since day 1. What do you mean by 'dust goes into the screen'? What should I be looking out for?
*
ya know when u put in your pocket or just leaving it on the desk for longer period..
sometime dusts can get inside the screen from the sides.. ..it could be the lack of build of the phone..like the glue or the material...try googling it,...its pretty common.

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Oct 28 2010, 12:07 PM)
The new touch sensor on SGS is made where the sensor was basically laid on top of the AMOLED, which it has no empty/vacuum space in between. If this is true, the chances of dust getting onto of your AMOLED display is rare/zero. Below/behind he AMOLED, maybe, but that's insignificant already.

So, we'll see how it goes. So far so good on mine, being in my pocket for a while now. Both my Nokia's screen was haunted by dust.
*
your nokia also invaded by dusts? felt trauma for me last time when that happend rclxub.gif

im at melbourne
im using it naked(with SP) for more than 3 months and dun have any dust inside the screen..
but there will have some dusts that "stuck" at the side/edge(along the chrome) of the screen which is normal
*
thats good to hear. then SGS build are pretty solid compared to omnia 2
ahh melbourne. weather changes can be hecktik within a day over there. studying there bro?

I get what you mean now. I don't see anything stuck under the screen, maybe because the S-AMOLED display actually has no separation/space between touch sensor and display layer.

However, there is a bit of dust in the small narrow areas between screen and the chrome bezel - nothing serious, a quick rub with a PC keyboard cleaner brush clears things up fine.
*
thats great to hear then. i can let my SGS naked biggrin.gif

Last time i have htc diamond that cost 2400. It lags. It has bugs. But i was happy because before that i was using dopod 838 pro which cost 3000 which is almost unusable.

SGS is so far the cheapest phone that i had being very satisfying.

Things would be different if you have seen from different perspective. Those people complaining in XDA about lag must have never used a PDA or they have only seen iphone. Daily restart and pushing reset button on the back of he phone was a norm. For SGS i don't even know if there is one hard reset button or not
*
thats true, i bought the samsung omnia 2, man,..it lags, its unresponsive, daily restart is a normal.bought it over 2k..first release.
i was still happy. it was my first samsung pda and i think the first AMOLED screen. i thought the screeen was gorgeous. eventho lags
and unresponsive. compared to my mates iphone. of course its slow but at least its amoled screen and it looks great. and i still have it here
nod.gif no regrets.
