He's trying out a trial acc on TW server I think. He said he and some of his crew (Ricgoh et al) will be playing the xpac on TW because they missed out on the pvp due to the atrocious US server pings.

Personally, i dont really recommend someone to play on wow-taiwan if you have problem understanding chinese, unless you have someone that you can tag along.

PVE will be more Alliance than Horde
most of the PVP server Horde is greater than Alliance, but it doesn't mean alliance is weakest side, for my server the new pvp zone always captured by alliance. >"< horde totally no chance at all.

as hidden's server is lock it will take more than 2-3 month to unlock. cause now is the most heavy traffic.
go to new server to level and transfer back is the only choice. else, ask hidden they all transfer to new server XD as now is a free transfer.

yes TW server allow to do transfer as long as you got $$

I assume u are talking about wow taiwan playing using US client.

I will always check out www.mmo-champion.com for wow related details. So u will likely to be aware that a patch is live when US patch on Tuesday and so we can prepare on Taiwan Wednesday patch.

What i normally do, i will always try to log in to as per normal. if cant log in, then i will switch to US realmlist (change the realmlist.wtf, details / instruction as per front page) and perform update, then switch back and play.

For summary, play the game as normal, change back to US to check is there any patch, if yes, download, and play. if no, something wrong somewhere, call a doctor immediately.
