QUOTE(seanoys @ Dec 29 2010, 02:57 PM) basically i think this buffer thingy makes the spring higher so less stress is on the spring.. so when we go over bump cant feel as much as before.. not bumpy.. more solid feel lar.. like merc bmw etc.. but for RM120.. hahah dont expect to be like BMW or merc. just FEEL like it only.. yeah~ agree with u... i just installed this buffer too today! feel more stable when cornering at high speed.. plus can feel improvement when loads with 5 ppl in my car (less bumpy) |

dear sifus,
want to ask regarding the spring buffer thing... is there any different effect if put the buffer at upper side of spring versus lower side of spring? |

QUOTE(XionCity @ Jan 15 2011, 09:10 AM) i dun think u will put double....i think ur spring might damage or u will feel more bumpy as ever, coz the spring got no free will to bounce up and down, due to being 'tied up'. thanks for the info yet, ur car height will b increase more, and sacrifice stability....ur car then will b no better than proton cars when overtaking lorries and buses in highway.. actually what i'm trying to say is using one buffer per spring... any different ka between install at upper side of spring and lower side of spring? top side: = <-- buffer = || O <-- tyre lower side: || <-- spring || = O <-- tyre hahaha... sorry i'm no good in explaining... perhaps above 'illustration' can describe better? QUOTE(seanoys @ Jan 15 2011, 03:41 PM) From what I understand the guy installed the buffer for me last time told me that he put the buffer in the middle cause don't want the rubber to knock the top.. So if you put the buffer over the top part and not middle when you go over bump it'll shorten Yr buffer shelf life and damage your suspension(maybe?) so yeah.. ya, the sound can be irritating sometime... One thing I don't like about the buffer is when I go over bump FAST..I can hear this "TOOP" sound..very heartaching sound And anyways know where to touch up our rims? I accidently scatched the edge of the rims when coming out frm carpark maybe will try to adjust the buffer to see if there is any effect later |
