My waja broke down on a highway today on my way to perlis.luckily a there is a workshop nearby.manage to solve the problem around one hours.just thinking, if forte breakdown like that, does the sparepart easier to get or not.cos this incident make me think again whether it's a good decision for me to get a forte.im worry bout the sparepart availability in the future.what do u thinkguys?
*
i somehow agree with you that for korean car spare part, not any capalang workshop can get spare part, especially when emergency like your case.

but lets think another way, wat is the percentage of ur car breakdown on the middle of the road? i drive a proton saga for 8 years, not 1 time my car breakdown on the road. so compare to the time i enjoy driving my car, i choose to take the risk because it just not significant for such 1 off cases.

I can't find the petrol kiosk light when I start up the engine. In manual it stated the DTE shown ----- when lesser than 50km, but the petrol indicator is running very low, i feel worry when driving even though there is no warning light.

Can anyone kind enough to take photo of the low petrol warning and post it here? Thanks~ rclxms.gif
*
Read ur manual, more focusly, it is all written in the manual,

There is a petrol kiosk light, AND the LCD will show "low fuel" warning. if u not seeing this, either u not low enough in fuel, or both light not functioning which i doubt it will happen.

As I said, I have spent 5 weeks plus until now still haven't got my car ready. So yesterday I went to the showroom where my car stock located in jb. Guess what ... My car exposes under hot sun n downpour outside the showroom without any shelter. Disc brake and wheel caps got rusted and paints are dirty and full of oily hand marks and shits. And this is what they promised me to keep my car inside while waiting for all the documents. I saw a delivery memo stated it was sent on 8 nov. WTH exposing my car under this kind of weather for more than 20days. I would never treat my car like that. Waste my time. Somemore I purposely went there even downpour and the outlet was closed by the time I reached there around 4pm. I doubt they didn't even open but as I known naza should open their branches 365days. I was getting mad and nag the SA to reject the car as it was like being SM before I saw it myself. Sands are inside rear seats and they are not wrapped properly just like demo cars I saw in other showrooms. I'm fed up already. I recorded my car condition as an evidence and if they gave me other surprise again, I'm going to send it to TTPM and media. I thought of uploading it in YouTube for others awareness but the clip is full of vulgar words I used. laugh.gif
Damn angry now for another delay again.

Ron 97 petrol price high again. so it is worth the price? i found an intersting article about petrol, just to share.., it is not my article, so dun shoot me if anything not agreeable

-octane rating(RON) determine the energy that needed to ignite the petrol through compression.(not by spark plug)

-higher actane rating require more energy to ignite(RON 97 need more energy to ignite then RON 95 when compressed)

-Meaning that, if ron 97 and ron 95 petrol were to compress at the same ratio, and rate, ron 95 will ignite earlier then Ron 97 petrol.

-so how is octane rating affect engines?

: when air and fuel were mix in engine and compress in the engine block, normal situation, spark plug will ingite the mixture.
: each type of engine have compression ration(air fuel mixture ratio)
: higher compression ratio need higher octane rating fuel, to prevent knocking.

example.

supercharged engine with high compression ratio:

use low octane rating fuel - the high compression causes the low octane rating fuel to ignite itself even before the spark plug fire, cause knocking.

so, need to use higher octane rating fuel, so that the mixture of air-fuel can stand the compression and not ignite itself.

-so how to determine what octane rating needed for the car?

: this depends on the compression ratio of the engine, the design, material use for engine block.
: For normal passanger cars, normally manufacturer will determine the minimum octane rating and stat in the user manual.

-does higher octane rating fuel provide more power to the car?

: Theoritically no, at least for normal engines.

-does higher octane rating fuel provide better Fuel consumption?

: Theoritically no, at least for normal engines.

Petrol company tent to add different additive and formulation for their petrol, those additive and different formulation might contibute to power increase/ redeuce FC.

but for octane wise, my opinion is the writer was correct, if purely compare ROn95 and 97, without any additive, the performance should be almost the same for normal compression engine.

my experiance, tried

petronas 95, 97
shell 95, 97
esso 95, 97
bhp 95, 97

power, cant feel any different,
FC, almost same, shell 97 is the worst.....

so at last i stick to petronas 95 for more then 1/2 yrs, until now no problem at all....

i wun go for shell...even juz outside my hse, that petrol station...dun like it
i rather go a distance around 7-8km away from my hse, go for BHP
*
i read that u have knocking using ron95 petrol. why dun u try other brand or other station RON95, as i know, there are some station that have lower quality petrol(tercampur some other things in the large petrol tanks, water,dirt,...that degrade the fuel).

my bad experiance is with my bike, i always fill my bike at a station near my work place, so long no problem, but i changed job and pump at different station, my bike can feel not much power and the petrol filter choke less then 1 month!!

http://www.mudah.my/Kia+Forte+SX+Auto+1+6-7922481.htm

http://www.mudah.my/Forte+sx+1+6-7921631.htm

Much more depreciation. Both are 2010 cars not more than half year. The one which is selling 76800 can keep at home cuz for me, i rather pay 5000 more to get a new one. Just my 2cent worth.
*
i also dun think 2009 forte can get 76k price....is not logic.

How do we know whether our car is CBU or not?

I've been told, there is sticker (meant for chasis no.) at bottom left corner of the front wind shield.
If your sticker is black color also together with KIA logo there..your car is CBU.

But, if your sticker there is white in color, then your car was CKD.

I'm not really sure about this..can someone confirm this...
*
actually i think no one can actually prove that any forte is CBU/CKD.
those CBU story are all just ppl talking.....i even heard some said that current forte are all CBU because gurun plant have not start production for Forte!!
so to me, not prove=all forte are same......

black, white and red dirty spotted very easily......that y always seem dirty....need to really wash always to make it shining shining .....

titanium silver and bronze metal are always mistaken as same color expecially when night time. easier to take car, dirty not so easily seem.

bright silver easier to take care coz dirty really invinsible...hahaha

Hi all sifus here,
Anyone can suggest the best SC in JB? Any comments about JB3S near New York Hotel? Do we need to book appointment before sending our car for servicing? If yes, anyone mind to share the contact no.?
Thank you in advance.
*
many fortenzen recomment Impian emas SC.....for all sc number, u can refer to Kia service

for JB 3s near New york hotel, i only went there twice, and have some unhappy encounter.....

i went there for 1st service, complain about alignment, but was told saturday cannot do alignment, they advice me to book a time early in weekdays so that they have enough time to check becoz alignment take times. so i went on to book a time, monday morning 9am, the following week. the next monday, i reach there arounf 8.45am, leave my car to them and go elsewhere as they said might only be ok after noon. when i back to SC at 1.30pm......i was shock my car was not even start to do alignment.....i f**k they upside down and drive away......what the hell i make appoinment, come so early, but the car was parking at sc for few hours.......

Wahh.. So jia lat ar? Then i no need to consider this place 3s since they are such kind of people and i can only place my car for servicing on saturday.
How about Impian emas? Do we need to phone for appointment booking?

Anyway, thx for immediate info as i'm thinking of going to have my first service done on this saturday.

Added on December 13, 2010, 3:29 pmsorry, one more question, servicing in the recommended impian emas there will not void warranty right? I saw lot people recommend Ming Hong too, what are the feedback there?
*
maybe i more bad luck lah, however, i will op for impian emas SC in future(impian emas service advisor came to JB TT that day!), due to good relation with their ppl, haha....next time anything maybe can "gao tim" for me also....

normally i will book lo, better book to avoid too many ppl, need to wait long time.

impian emas SC is authorized Kia SC, no problem for warranty.

i nv been to ming hong before....no comment.
