I think Im just going to buy either 1.6EX or SX . not going to wait for next year for 6s GB since the price is going to increase as well and don't care for the second hand value as Im going to use this for a long time.
Currently still using my 13years old wira...so I guess it should not be a problem for me to use Forte for the next 7-9 years ? lol
Pre 2000 model Wira's had better built quality mind you. Dont assume that the Forte will last for the next 7-9 years.

My sincere advise to you would be since u have waited for 13 years using your current ride, whats the problem in waiting a few months more for the 6 Speed unit? But most importantly, why not wait for the Hyundai Avante? If u arent desperate for a car, then waiting a few months more should not be an issue for u. Dont blindly go with the flow merely since everyone else is. We cannot afford to have the herd mentality with car purchases. Its still hard earned money.

lol .. yeah right ..
the thing is the 2011 model is at least around +RM6k .. which is too much for me .. infact someone from this forum has just offered me RM1300 rebate for forte 1.6sx 2010 !!
*
1300 only?? U should be getting more for a model that is gonna lose about 5-6K in resale value in about 3 weeks time.

Something a forumer from other section shared with me;

http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/car...l-bodykits.html
Used Naza Forte 1.6SX

http://www.carlist.my/used-cars/266725/Hon...y%20i-VTEC.html
Honda City S Spec

New Honda city S spec 2009 RM 85,480 selling RM72,800 = 14% depreciation

New Forte 1.6SX 2009 RM81, 800 selling RM76,800 = 6% depreciation
Hmmm.. What do u guys think?
*
Depreciation within the first 3 years or so will be almost the same for all makes. The major difference is seen during the 5th year onwards. Anyway, i dont think the resale value for a 2009 Forte will only be 5K less.

He's only pushing you because he has been instructed by his management to push off the 2010 stock. Dont fall for all these salesman gimmicks la. Be a smart consumer.

then ask her to wait for another 3,4 months? will u give your ride for her as a loan car?
sometime i wonder why u need  to bother much with other's personal decision.

for me the interest rates is good already. it will be a loss for her if interest rate jump back to 3 or 3.5% on march next year. smile.gif
*
Im commenting on the post itself and not someone's actual situation at home. If the need warrants her to take delivery now, then so be it. Interest rates will not jump upwards like that when the automotive industry is becoming more competitive especially in 2011.

Its not whether i bother or not. Im commenting on the post which everyone does. If the comment or opinion is acceptable then fine. If not then fine also.

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Feb 2 2011, 02:03 PM)
just booked my 1.6 sx 6 speed auto @ serdang branch. Just for everyone's reference, here are the new spec list for the Forte Facelift (FL):

1.6 EX:
- 6 Speed
- Antilock braking system (ABS)
- 16" Allow Wheels (UP from previous 15" Steel)
- Rear Disc Brake
- Dual Airbags
- Active Headrest
- Front foglamps
- Audio System with CD Player/MP3/USB/Ipod with 6 speakers
- LED Side Repeaters (I think this is side signals)
- Eletronic Chromic Mirror
- Air Cond
- Reverse Sensor

1.6 SX / 2.0 SX (Addon from above):
- 6 speed with paddle shifters (new for 1.6 and 2.0 sx)
- Electronic stability control (ESC)
- Eletronic Brake force distribution (EBD)
- Cornering brake control (CBC)
- Brake assist system (BAS)
- Traction control system (TCS)
- 17" Allows
- CD Changer
- Bluetooth connectivity
- UV Cut Glass
- Leather Steering Wheel
- LED Side Mirror With auto-folding (NEW In 1.6 & 2.0 SX) - Basically a button to press to fold/unfold the side mirrors
- Telescopic steering
- Keyless entry system
- Electronic chromic mirror
- Full auto aircond
- Rear parking assist system
- Button start/stop & smart key system
- Reverse camera & Display (new in 1.6 & 2.0 sx) - Reverse camera appears in rear view mirror, takes up half of the rearview mirror and has a display (3 "boxes") to indicate the distance between your car rear and the object behind it.

2.0 SX Only:
- Side & curtain airbags
- Leather seats
- Motor driven power steering
- Auto cruise control

That's about it. The new features for the FL are worth the extra 4k plus the 6 speed gearbox. The gearbox looks however are not as nice as the previous 4 speed AND the front grille of the new forte FL is also not as nice looking. The older grille is more "inner" bevel while the new FL is more "outer" bevel. Not so sure if this is the correct way to describe. Go to the showroom to check it out, you'll know what i mean.

Rather than put down the full specs, can you briefly list down the EXTRAS from the previous model and the current price?

Yupp.."There is no electronic-based cause for unintended high-speed acceleration in Toyotas. The conclusion is Toyota’s problems were mechanical, not electrical. Only proven causes are sticky pedals and floor mats..all other allegations and testimonies have no basis"; citation from Paultan's blog.

yes its the article as well. But everybody was blaming the throttle system on the car as the major cause when it was merely the floor mat or a sticky pedal. Nothing mechanical as well.
