QUOTE(RedSiglap56 @ Oct 21 2010, 04:43 PM) Gerrard and Torres left out of match against Napoli. Ngog will probably lead the line out in front. What worries me is our midfield although our defence has been leaking alot of goals. A weak midfield inadvertently puts pressure on the defence. If RH plays both Lucas and Poulsen tonight, then clearly he does not think like many of us do : that Lucas is just not good enough and that Poulsen needs more time to adjust. I have a feeling that's gonna happen. He seems to prefer the draw mentality whenever he's playing away.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Oct 21 2010, 11:55 PM) The Reds side in full is: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Konchesky, Poulsen, Spearing, Jovanovic, Shelvey, Babel, Ngog. Subs: Jones, Kyrgiakos, Aurelio, Wilson, Maxi, Cole, Eccleston. Wow, finally he's giving more of the youngsters to start. Hopefully they'll impress.

Shelvey's been decent so far, considering it's his first start in a Liverpool shirt. Babel's trying too hard to impress with his fancy stuff and not getting anywhere. Jova still trying to find his feet in the game. Poulsen is being well...Poulsen. Konchesky made 1 or 2 errors already but made it up at the end of the half. The performance is still not convincing enough for me...but hey, tactically it's better than 4 days ago.

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Oct 22 2010, 02:57 AM) Boring game. What a waste of time.No urgency in attacking.Babel being babel, Poulsen is still poulsen.Spearing was disappointing...N'Gog wore wrong shirt...I can't find any positive besides us keeping a clean sheet and getting a point despite playing like shit. N'gog looked really tired after 70 mins. Babel, Poulsen, Spearing were really disappointing..Kelly, apart from 1 or 2 shaky moments, was decent..So was Shelvey and Skrtel..But the team showed not much ambition to attack..Relied a lot on counters..and played too slow a tempo when going forward..Boring indeed cuz Napoli weren't playing well either..BTW, loved the turn by N'gog though.. QUOTE "If Glen doesn't play then Jamie will play at right-back. Carragher will play anywhere you ask him and he is just a marvellous Liverpool player and club servant. He and Steven Gerrard are what Liverpool is all about.
"Jamie is a centre back and that is where I think he should be playing. I don't like having to move him to full-back but it would be wrong to put young Kelly into the team and leave someone like Kyrgiakos or Skrtel out. We need the experience." What is he so afraid of? Putting Carra at that position would actually backfire IMO. Kelly is much more suited to play right back. He has had a taste of being in the first team already, so why not just start him?? RH is too scared to try out young players like Wilson, Jonjo and Kelly. This post has been edited by 8sg9ft: Oct 23 2010, 04:47 PM

Newcastle won to save Liverpool's blushes. It's a positive sign.

Played really well...for about 75 mins..then started defending too deep for my liking..but in any case, should have put the game to bed in the first half and had genuine penalty claims that should have been given..but it's a good sign the team played this well..it's time to do this more consistently..

Yahoo! An away win finally. What a relief. BTW, I thought we had some really good attacking moves when Ngog came on. Good incisive pass from Lucas and a very good flick from Torres to set up the goal. We need more of this! YNWA!
P.S I honestly think Soto and Skrtel are doing well in the middle of defence nowadays.

And one more thing I've noticed recently, Soto is a really great threat from set-pieces. Very Hyypia-like.

QUOTE(wyk85 @ Nov 1 2010, 02:04 AM) Greek hero, Soto is my MOTM. Notice most headers won by Bolton players when the ball at midfield, but when high ball reach penalty box, Soto pawn Davies. YNWA Yeah man, I was worried before the game Davies gonna bully our defence but we have improved in aerial defence recently which is good.

QUOTE(nonamekid @ Nov 1 2010, 02:07 AM) but more improvement is needed. we need to score a goal at 1st half at least to secure 80% winning in the game. Wah bro, where did you get that stat from?

QUOTE(mamet @ Nov 7 2010, 11:28 PM) i really hope RH play diamond.. reina kelly carra seketul konchesky lucas meireles maxi stevie g kuyt torres I highly doubt it. Looking at what Hodgson has done so far I think he's going 5 across midfield. Kuyt on the right with Maxi on the left. Lucas will play deeper in the middle.

Second half not good for Liverpool supporters with high blood pressure. Anyway, a very hardworking performance from the team today. I thought Lucas and Kelly did well again. Skrtel was a bit shaky in the air though. We need Soto! The first half was brilliant. Chelsea didn't have any decent chance. Second half we were pinned back most of the time but our defence weathered the storm somewhat. We got a little bit of luck when Carra almost scored an own goal but we deserve that kind of luck. It's been deserting us for some time. Very happy that Torres is showing some of the form we all know he's capable of. It's time to keep the momentum going in the league. 3 wins in a row now and up next are Wigan (away), Stoke (away) and West Ham (home). Win all 3 and we could be in the top 4. Keeping my fingers crossed that the team performs how they did in the first half today more consistently. This post has been edited by 8sg9ft: Nov 8 2010, 02:19 AM

QUOTE(New_born @ Nov 8 2010, 02:17 AM) i think kelly is better than johnson in term of defend... should kelly be our starter from now?? That depends on RH. He seems to favour Johnson more. But I really like what Kelly has done so far in the first team. So I wouldn't mind him starting more often.

QUOTE(seizer @ Nov 8 2010, 02:23 AM) i prefer playing kelly in his main position.. as centre back.. thought it will take time for that to happen... kelly=carra.. honestly.. hes outplayed in 2nd half... tired maybe You gotta know that Chelsea were overloading in attack in the second half especially on the left wing with Cole and Zhirkov and then Malouda pulling out wide to out-number Kelly.
