Soccernet Game Cast

From what I see, dunno much about Napoli's squad except Dossena, Cavani, Hamsik..and maybe a little about Paolo Cannavaro..

Shelvey's been decent so far, considering it's his first start in a Liverpool shirt. Babel's trying too hard to impress with his fancy stuff and not getting anywhere. Jova still trying to find his feet in the game. Poulsen is being well...Poulsen. Konchesky made 1 or 2 errors already but made it up at the end of the half. The performance is still not convincing enough for me...but hey, tactically it's better than 4 days ago.

N'gog looked really tired after 70 mins. Babel, Poulsen, Spearing were really disappointing..Kelly, apart from 1 or 2 shaky moments, was decent..So was Shelvey and Skrtel..But the team showed not much ambition to attack..Relied a lot on counters..and played too slow a tempo when going forward..Boring indeed cuz Napoli weren't playing well either..BTW, loved the turn by N'gog though..

What is he so afraid of? Putting Carra at that position would actually backfire IMO. Kelly is much more suited to play right back. He has had a taste of being in the first team already, so why not just start him?? RH is too scared to try out young players like Wilson, Jonjo and Kelly.

Aiyoh,,,what a wasted opportunity..Cole and then Meireles..

Played really well...for about 75 mins..then started defending too deep for my liking..but in any case, should have put the game to bed in the first half and had genuine penalty claims that should have been given..but it's a good sign the team played this well..it's time to do this more consistently..

Yahoo! An away win finally. What a relief. BTW, I thought we had some really good attacking moves when Ngog came on. Good incisive pass from Lucas and a very good flick from Torres to set up the goal. We need more of this! YNWA!

P.S I honestly think Soto and Skrtel are doing well in the middle of defence nowadays.

And one more thing I've noticed recently, Soto is a really great threat from set-pieces. Very Hyypia-like.

Only a win would suffice for me today. Playing at home and what I saw the last time Napoli aren't all guns blazing anyway.

I highly doubt it. Looking at what Hodgson has done so far I think he's going 5 across midfield. Kuyt on the right with Maxi on the left. Lucas will play deeper in the middle.

Second half not good for Liverpool supporters with high blood pressure. Anyway, a very hardworking performance from the team today. I thought Lucas and Kelly did well again. Skrtel was a bit shaky in the air though. We need Soto! The first half was brilliant. Chelsea didn't have any decent chance. Second half we were pinned back most of the time but our defence weathered the storm somewhat. We got a little bit of luck when Carra almost scored an own goal but we deserve that kind of luck. It's been deserting us for some time. Very happy that Torres is showing some of the form we all know he's capable of. It's time to keep the momentum going in the league. 3 wins in a row now and up next are Wigan (away), Stoke (away) and West Ham (home). Win all 3 and we could be in the top 4. Keeping my fingers crossed that the team performs how they did in the first half today more consistently.

That depends on RH. He seems to favour Johnson more. But I really like what Kelly has done so far in the first team. So I wouldn't mind him starting more often.

You gotta know that Chelsea were overloading in attack in the second half especially on the left wing with Cole and Zhirkov and then Malouda pulling out wide to out-number Kelly.

Poulsen and Johnson better improve on their performance or else whenever I see their names in the starting 11 I'll just lose the mood to watch the game.

How sure are you about that? You're saying we won't lose the game.
