@super_alien, mate you mentioned in thread v6 that you managed to get navit working with garmin, but dumped it in one day. Do you mind sharing why you dumped it? functionality issues? I wanna give it a go, since i've been able to handle most things this phone has thrown at me so far, and i don't mind sifting through talk.maemo threads,

QUOTE(one1002 @ Oct 22 2010, 10:52 PM) yes..but i managed to get it working suddenly..then,tried again, it doesnt work anymore..looks like bug..it seems that the default driver has the ability to penetrate, bruteforcing and capturing wep/wpa passkey with non-client router/pc...but it took like the whole night to collect enough #data packet..but i think it just some bugs.. aiks neopwn avaailable for our n900 already??? have you tried wireshark?problem is even the wifi driver is open, backtrack team is having problem patching it..have yet to install neopwn..didnt have much time... |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Oct 22 2010, 11:02 PM) neopwn released a beta & but closed the testing period fast.I didn't have time to test it either. hmmm, now i'm disappointed i missed it as as well, Some said the full version will be out soon.Let's wait & see. btw did you hear abt the possibility of running palm pre games on our beloved n900s?? i saw a new thread in talk, that seems to have gotten off the ground replete with screenies as well. Hopefully a working emulator makes an appearance soon!! |

thanks sifu super, for all of those interested refer the thread in the post above.
I've tried NSFU, works great. Tried SIms as well but because of lack of multitouch, camera rotation isn't possible. It seems that non-EA games are still having issues, but hopefully these will be ironed out as this is only the first beta of the emulator. Its great that it installs an icon which is accessible at will within maemo now and makes it an ease to launch just like a native app, Edit : I'm using the same wallpaper too, hehe, but reworked the colours to green/black/yellow, This post has been edited by porselinaheart: Oct 24 2010, 10:02 PM |

for those of you who were asking about installing palm SDL games ( NFSU, SIMS, LETS GOLF ), here's a quick tuto
open up Xyerm and type : sudo gainroot apt-get install preenv transfer the relevant game folder within 'applications' folder from ur palm pre to '/home/user/applications' in your n900 ( create the '/home/user/applications' folder and transfer the game folders in there ) if you only have the ipk file ( similiar to the apk files for android ), unzip with 7-zip and you should have the relevant game folders you need to transfer to your n900. next open up xterm again and type: sudo gainroot preenv ( or if its still open ) cd /home/user/applications/'name of game folder'. chmod +rwx 'name of the game' (for example, need for speed would be nfsuc) To create a desktop icon type the added line: desktopgen appinfo.json then just select the icon from your normal menu like a native game/app Note 1 : For NSFU when in car purchase/car select screen, to exit have to tap the return button multiple times like a woodpecker, Note 2 : Games I've tested - NFSU ( works perfectly) - SIMS ( No camera rotation due to lack of multitouch) - LETS GOLF ( Currently testing, seems fine so far ) @mashimarow thanks for the list bro, take note though for item 47 ( installation of rootsh ) latest version requires you to type sudo gainroot EDIT: Clarified instructions for transferring game folders/into relevant directory in n900. @ super & jananan
too true... i will say tho that this emulator seems to run seamlessly for the games it can run, and after installation, its just like any other native game for maemo, very big difference i feel from other emulators on the n900 |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Oct 25 2010, 12:26 PM) actually no sifu aspire. They are webOS games for palm pre. the HW specs are similiar to our n900, so a member of talk.maemo has compiled a emulator which allows the games to be run in maemo. check my tuto a couple of posts above. and the talk.maemo thread in super-alien's post before that. I finally have a cun 3d racing game which runs smoothly from within maemo with full accelorometer support, complete with icon like a native game, EDIT: Here's a youtube vid showing NFSU working. Its in german, and the dude isn't driving that well, but it shows how smoothly everything works once set-up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EoBe4fqL8No This post has been edited by porselinaheart: Oct 25 2010, 01:00 PM |

QUOTE(zhlly4eae @ Oct 25 2010, 01:20 PM) i installed that preenv create a folder in /home/user/ called applicationsthen until here how? ( or if its still open ) cd /home/user/applications/'name of game folder'. chmod +rwx 'name of the game' (for example, need for speed would be nfsuc) To create a desktop icon type the added line: desktopgen appinfo.json then just select the icon from your normal menu like a native game/app u need the game data files. check ur pm. after you download it, unzip with 7-zip until you have the data.tar, unzip that and then look for the folder 'com.ea.app.nfsuc.eu.en' which should have a bunch of files in it, copy the 'com.ea.app.nfsuc.eu.en' folder and its contents to /home/user/applications/ then if ur xterminal is still open proceed to type the commands in the tuto as above. if not open xterm again type 'sudo gainroot', enter then 'preenv' then follow the tuto above. |

for those of you stuck on unzipping the ipk file, hang on i am uploading a rar with the data folder u need to transfer, so please hang on.
for others who have 7-zip on ur pc, just unzip the ipk file, then unzip the data.rar, then unzip the data.tar. u will then have the unzipped data folder for you to transfer to ur n900 in data/usr/palm/applications/'game data folder' |
