dj_steve is more on dell streak froyo development :/
hope they will fix the crash soon.....

Contrary to what people believe,I think eyes work on NITDroid is more important.Even dj_steve admitted that his linux knowledge is no match for eyes.
eyes work on ofono,kernels,repos & etc2 are very2 important.

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Nov 1 2010, 10:34 PM)
Yup, got it back last week, then back to ICU and back again. Seems they said it's normal, I need to test with other N8, but seems some forumer also PM me they having same problem. Not sure if it's really normal or my unit extra special a bit cause when I compare side by side with the demo unit last time, mine is seems more obvious/serious, then when send to NCC, also compared with another customer's N8 and the customer service also noted the differences, and the last send in, we tested and compared with the demo unit available there also can see the difference.

I compared with my friend's Samsung Wave (Super AMOLED), even set to maximum brightness, it's showing perfectly fine. I suspect it's the brightness/contrast settings, maybe my unit is set too high by default, so even I set the brightness (light sensor) to lowest, it's still looks bright; Imagine watching video where the dark areas are bright. Not sure it's contrast or brightness.

Maybe I'll try to do a proper comparison with video (hopefully can see the problem from the recording).

Anyway, if it's firmware settings, then I think it can be fixed through firmware updates; OR, maybe IF there is an app for us to adjust the brightness and contrast settings.....
*
Since you can prove the "defect" by comparing to demo set, can't you ask for replacement?
Or is the rangers set comes with non-tradeable agreement?

why HD2 can get a stable ROM for Android right?...I'm not sure...but that's what I heard...

Ps...wanna go up to my room and play juiced 2 before sleeping... night laugh.gif

This is a million dollar question.
A lot people ask why people can port Android to HD2 easily but it's taking NITDroid team much longer to port Android to N900.
The reason, there are multiple HTC device with similar hardware as HD2 running Android. All the xda guys do is copy the ROM & modify some stuff to make everything work(there are some hard work involved).
Meanwhile for NITDroid, the team have to work with Vanilla OS.They have to work on the drivers & configure stuff on their own.Not to mention N900's phone functions are using some funky stuff(ofono etc). All these made porting NITDroid much harder. However it's quite an achievement that the team came this far.

VLC should just remove the app from App Store. They know that Apple will somehow violate the GPL but still went ahead with the release to App Store? doh.gif
Better concentrate on Android Market or Maemo.

ok smile.gif but will there be a more stable version of Meego for N900 in the future?...
*
Yes.MeeGo 1.2 will be the consumer ready OS.In other word 1.2 will be OS used by Nokia when they launch their 1st MeeGo phone.
The MeeGo adaptation leader for N900 already said that dapataion of v1.2 on N900 already on work.
Actually if you want you can try the build 1.1.80(build candidate for 1.2).

QUOTE(one1002 @ Nov 2 2010, 11:01 PM)
do u happen to know if they sell 16GB class 10 too?and how much is it..?

but what about the quality of the card itself?

i once got myself DNA 8GB class 6..it dropped from coffee table height to the floor..which was about 2feet high..then the pc cannot detect..laptop or phone or memory card reader too..

sent it for an exchange...came back home..purposely dropped the microSD card from the same height, same result..
sent it again for exchange..test again purposely..still same..exchanged for 4times..so..i got my full refund back.. tongue.gif  tongue.gif

so the question is, is this Kingmax reliable?
*
I've sent pm asking for 16GB class 4 & 10 microSD.If the seller have it ready stock then I'll inform you guys.

I can't comment much on the reliablity because I'm only using the Kingmax brand microSD with my Digicam. So far it's working fine.
Anyway Kingmax have a decent RMA.I've RMA my friends flash drive from them without much problem.
