QUOTE(porselinaheart @ Oct 26 2010, 11:56 AM) +1 hehe, OTG is kinda stable on the N8. now if only usb OTG were more stable, and damned VLC player is released ( shakes fist angrily at VLC while thumbing his nose at apple ) i'd be happy just plug in usb drive - the file manager will freeze for 5 seconds - and you can see the extra drive. simple as that. nokia should have done that in the first place with N900. nokia mentality is release buggy and incomplete software/firmware first, fix later. i am still waiting for a proper map application and my 3G video call to work, PR1.4 anyone ? |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Oct 26 2010, 12:07 PM) I do but not by multiboot. yeah, i can understand your frustration. Indeed. OTG was mess even after I set up.Need to create a separate kernel boot in order to use it.I just hope it'll be integrated in titan's kernel in future. You've no idea how funken angry I was after seeing VLC release the iOS version. When I checked the VLC website it's still stated that ARM Compilation is incomplete & none of the admin/staff for their forum wants to answer on whether there will be a full GUI version of VLC. VLC on iOS. that does not make any sense. its like open source meets closed source. an open source sw on a closed source OS. lets see how long it lasts. lets hope steve bans it. is VLC on the main app store or cydia ? |

QUOTE(Josh_M @ Oct 26 2010, 12:34 PM) those are changes noticed in the leaked PR1.3 firmware, but since they say the date on both the leaked and official PR1.3 is the same, it should be the correct unofficial changelog. nokia, on the other hand is scared to release an official changelog, because they didnt change much... QUOTE(angelbratz @ Oct 27 2010, 12:20 PM) actually, N900 does not have vsync. thats why the animation in the UI looks like shit compared to iphone. you can see a lot of tearing, esp in animated menu, desktop and transitions and while you scroll. iphone has vsync, thats why everything looks buttery smooth. i just feel enabling that option that i found does make the desktop animation a bit smoother. but it could just be me... cos i was not using any transitions earlier, and i have not installed transition control after flashing to PR1.3 Added on October 27, 2010, 12:24 pm QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Oct 27 2010, 12:21 PM) so envy u all installing so many stuff lately. The wasting part is n900 do not have multi touch support you got N8.... we also envy you...Added on October 27, 2010, 12:26 pm QUOTE(Josh_M @ Oct 27 2010, 12:21 PM) i already replied, where to find that file and what to change. see previous posts. its just a matter of opening that file in text editor and changing the value to =1 no way to test if it actually works, cos i dont have another PR1.2 device to test. also i cant remember if PR1.2 had that settings, but as far as i can remember i didnt see something like that... anyone still with PR1.2 can confirm ? QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Oct 27 2010, 01:34 PM) Do you know any method to shorten the automatic screen lock time? good question... For me the default time is too long. Added on October 27, 2010, 1:36 pm Man...Don't start this first... We already have a total mess coming up. In coming days I have to make multiboot with triple OS work, probably install new NITDroid, test webOS games,etc2 It's going to be very busy week because aside from this & my studies,I have festival coming i've never wondered about that... there are some delays mentioned in the mce.ini for keypress actions. most are for screen dimming and keyboard light timeout. but nothing about the time it takes to initiate keylock. weird... anyway, i just leave the keyboard open, it does not lock. |

anyway, the vsync thing is make scrolling slow...
i mean it looks very nice and buttery smooth... but when i open a long document and scroll... it tries to scroll it over smoothly... some of you might like it...
