Honestly, I don't think we shouldn't be complaining/griping much about the new MGs which already have very good HG equivalents(eg. GN-X and 00Q) which are also relatively new cause nowadays the HGs already have very good articulation, detail and proportions. When making the MG I guess it would be better to follow the already good HG proportions and work on it a little(eg. sharpening up the edges and making weapons longer and more menacing like 00Q).

I guess the main selling point of the newer generation MGs would have to be (slightly)better articulation, better details and special gimmicks only possible with a mechanical frame. Either that or the 1/100 scale which some people like better.
Definitely nothing too radical like the previous generation and the HGs nowadays are just seriously good.
At the end of the day it's kinda like getting the best of both worlds, if you REALLY like a kit, you'd buy it regardless of scale and maybe even more than one of it too.
Just my two cents, no offense intended.

MG has always been about it's inner frame, really. If anything that's making them look bad by today standards it because Bandai is doing a hell of a job with their 1/144s

Bandai also sold GN-X red LED separately. I would guess this is to save cost manufacturing the LED units. Perhaps more people bought the normal version of Exia rather than Exia IM?

though enough with the fact. LED in an MG nowadays is like an extra.. since older MG doesn't even have those. but for me i'd rather buy with LED. i would still light up those LED 1 in a while, while taking pictures... or just plain having fun when posing it, with the lights on. but that's just me..

but i still think like very annoying la they display it but they not gonna give it to u.. hahaha kinda cruel sort of marketing

HGUC Dom/Rick Dom is the best Dom variant available in terms of proportions and articulation, excluding MG that is.
SCMs are often out of proportion, just like th RX78 version.

GSD series aren't exactly popular to begin with, especially when Saviour didn't really do much due to Athrun moping around early in the series, and got hacked into pieces by Freedom (hated that episode).

3 out of 4 GSD boss gundams are already in MG form, the next one should be Legend, if they decide to revive the GSD line in MG that is.

Eh? HG got designer color meh? I thought HG only Heavy Weapon type only?
I never come cross an HG that is designer color version one. Only 1/100.
For 1/144, as far as I know, got the HW type, expo version type, trans-arm type.
