More and more company is making profit out of Android.

I'm guessing more and more choices for consumer, the price will be very competitive too.

har.... i thought SE has the worst sales among the others Android phone maker.... since they love to used DATED ANDROID OS.

Some consumers look for the Sony Ericsson brand only. They don't care if it runs Android or not. If you're not knowledgeable about Android and don't care about updates, the Xperia phones are still quite attractive.

very true . they wouldn't ask about htc or samsung if the seller dosent recommend them

at certain market like Japan, X10 is the best seller

it's really a miracle that people are still buying them.. the ROM update support is almost non-existant, people are all moving to 2.2, X10 still waiting for 2.1...

when 3.0 gingerbread out sony will launch some phone call xperia x20 with 2.2 on it and then tell u it will have 3.0 update later but end up u wait 1 year still nothing come out.

Sony Ericsson just do not give consumer the feeling of.... software update.

But their walkman phone can really sell though~~

for me...the only advantage for the X10 is the camera only
other than that....other phone win

they are too obsessed about their timescape/mediascape
that makes upgrading to newer version more difficult as need to redo all the customization

"Walkman phone" is just another marketing bull..
not like other phones cant play MP3...
Classic case being K750i vs W800i, essentially same phone, but one priced higher than the other because of the name Walkman..
The ROM is even interchangeable.. LOL at those who spent the extra money for the walkman name..

The Sony Ericsson W995 is the best walkman phone to date. I have no regrets buying it. It's a bloody practical phone - very light at 113g but has WiFi, GPS, and 8.1MP camera with flash. Also very small and light, only problem is that browsing is a pain.

Well, not everyone's obsessed with the latest features, plus there's always a workaround, like apps2SD can already be applied on 2.1, no need 2.2, not that it's even a must have as X10 already has a monster size internal memory which I still find hard to fill. For me the latest version hype is just like Walkman marketing strategy, there are advantages but nothing deal-breaking. Plus, many SE fans would choose X10 for the camera and music which SE has extensive expertise on and couldn't care less about wifi tethering etc.

imho, X10 is quite nicely designed + spec ... the only reason i didnt buy it is the firmware abit lagging behind...if it was froyo on the next release ... i adi got myself x10

Agree with you, for me, i just want to make calls and sms then maybe some basic applications that's all. Latest os onot not so important for me..

If the older OS suit you just fine, then be it... why wanna upgrade just because the latest ver is released?

competition is tough man, SE better don't be lazy in rolling out Android updates

they have failed in WinMO and S60 products, Android can be their savior just like Motorola did if they take some efforts

I dumped SE few weeks ago, bought an HTC phone

my SE walkman phone lost 2 times with pickpocket..
& at third time i'm using basic SE phone J123..
when the memory reach full about a year...
read the review of SE X10 smartphone first..
lastly decide upgrade to Motorola Milestone...goodbye SE.

isnt it better if it were rolled into the phone officially instead of rooting and installing apps2sd on your own which voids the warranty?
apps2sd is not the only thing added in 2.2 too, there's also the JIT compiler which improves performance..

It is also a fact that 3D acceleration is almost the same speed for both 2.1 and 2.2 . And even if you have apps2SD support you'll still root your phone anyway, who doesn't? I'm not saying I wouldn't want 2.2 if I could, I'm just saying many of us don't think much of it, and the Xperia line sales proves this. FACT.

problem is the X10's hardware is fully capable of being upgraded to 2.2 or probably beyond, and yet, even 2.1 is still not available for X10.. see how far it lags behind other manufacturers in terms of support? i'm not as dumb as blindly asking for some upgrades that the hardware is not capable of supporting, but SE is not keeping up to give customers the upgrades that they deserves, that is my point..



your point is a little vague, but i shall refrain myself from replying.. i'm not using the Xperia series, and i am looking forward for froyo upgrade.. End of Story..

i was buy a x10 just becoz the design ...

LOL! No point fight for SE then.. They still using 1.6 for their newer device..
It just, whoever need nice build and their -scape only without thinking anymore than that.. Then, SE(with android) are their device..
If not.. prefer to go to other brand though..

i thnk sE only think to develop their phone and negleting what the customer want

yes, like me i just need a good camera phone no choice currently only SE android is the best in the market, about samsung brand i won't touch it anymore coz last time i used a lot of samsung phone like omnia, galaxy, omnia 2, most of them sure got small problem after 1 year, HTC brand great ! But the speaker & camera side have ti improve to become better
