hi bros,

I just purchased a 4820TG... I found that both cpu core temp load varies by 9c to 10c.. is this normal? Core temp should be pretty much consistant with a plus minus of 1~3c in diffrence am i right ?

tq tq

My personal review.

Stuff i hate.
a) Poor build quality, there's no solidness on this laptop. LCD lid built quality is totally hopeless, I had a bad feeling that I might wreck the panel in the future. It's just way to fragile for outdoor use lol.

b) The keyboard is a failure. It feels numb and dead just like those 10 year old jamed keyboard.

c) Poor wifi signal reception and max speed of 65Mbps for N ? yawann

d) Poor cooling system, perhaps a fan which could churn out more cfm then the current one might help.

Why the hell i bought this ...
a) Because it's cheap, 2600 with 3 year warranty.
b) The 8 hours hype.

My temp difference is varies but always seem to be less than 5c... but if i run VMware (dual core optimized proggie), both cores have very close value, so i guess it's depending on the app you are running. in idle, it is always less than 5.

but i think there is nothing wrong having up to 9c difference.. just not common... i heard that the intel digital thermal sensor (DTS) is not accurate, it was meant to prevent overheating but no to tell accurate temp.

first, congrats on your new purchase! nice to see some review from your part too.

a) u must have very high demand for build quality.  laugh.gif i m actually quite satisfy with the build quality, i used to own XPS1330 (which has good build quality too)

b) i hate the keyboard too...

c) the AR5B97 wifi card i have can do 300mbps according to here and here

d) although 4820tg only has 1 fan, but from what i gather in this forum the temp is quite nice too for both GPU and CPU comparable to 3820tg... what is your idle and heavy load temp?
*
a) Nope, i don't really demand much on the build quality, but it sucks when I compared it with my acer 4736G. The 4736g is robust enough to handle my daily abuse very well, as for this 4820TG... it require me to treat it like a lady laugh.gif doh.gif
b) nod.gif

c) 65Mbps is the max speed when connected to Dlink 150N wifi router/ap sweat.gif

d) Temp load idle, 29-34c for Core1, Core2 36-41c.
Temp load normal usage, few chrome, firefox, iE, Msn, 34-59c

thanks for those links. smile.gif
