Hi guys, i'm interested to get a 3820TG soon.

However, should i be considering or waiting for other options as well?

The plan is to get a 13-inch with quite okay specs for below 2.5k, gonna need the mobility n portability to use on the go, and while at home i'm gonna hook it up wit a lcd n mouse keyboard etc.

I can roughly guess the answers as i'm asking this question in this thread, but a lil assurance or honest opinions might just really help! biggrin.gif

Been using this notebook for 5 months now, still very impressive. Carry it with me everywhere I go. Really light on the backpack, no problem opening it up and start using it anywhere I want; on a small coffee table, on the lap, on the floor, in a flight, on the sofa, etc... u get the idea... it's smaller size and thinner dimension allow you to easily use it.

I really recommend you to get this since the new TimelineX will no longer has dual fan system. Although the new 3830tg will still have better spec.

As of now, 3820tg is still the most powerful 13" and below notebook...

hmm, for da price i guess it cant be beaten, value-wise?

the i3 is only a dual core right? needa use da laptop for at least 3 years, wont have any budget left for a newer laptop

currently using studio 15 wit p8400 n ati 4570, it will not be a downgrade in any sense right?

So i've decided to get the 3820 after two days of reading reviews and comparisons, however i'd like to know if anyone is using it together wit an lcd/led monitor?

Thinking of getting a 19/20-inch to use at home.

Most likely need to go to Catalyst Control Center and reduce the scaling to 0% when connecting to the monitor...
Yup.
3830TG will have one fan, the other side is occupied by HDD..

if i'm only gonna run it on the native 1366 x 768 then no scaling would be needed right?

Not sure, but most people having the slight black bar problem and solve it by reducing the scaling to 0%...

aiming for thisthis model actually, the native reso is only a notch higher than the 3820's

Flash eat a lot CPU...
On the advanced power settings, set the maximum processor state to 99%, that should disable the TB hmm.gif
Just get it...
