32-bit also can use 4GB, but u will only get something like 3GB effectively. to make full use of the 4GB, use 64 bit.
It still shows as 3.68mb usable even with 64bit.

i reckon to upgrade. check my post 138 in this tread. if u r using 64-bit OS, with 2Gb, it's running slower than it should be

although the effect of gaming should not be very visible (IMHO), but if you browse a lot, more RAM should help!

finally, it all depends on how important RM130 for you (i just assume that's the cost of 2 Gb ram). with 4Gb, benefit is assured.

i spend 70% of my time with my notebook, so, a little benefit also make huge difference for me biggrin.gif

Best experience using 4820tg while working..
The battery can hold up from 9am-6pm with 6-cell battery on WiFi mode.

Hopefully after upgrade ram will not effect battery performances. sweat.gif

new ram surely will take some more watt, but the gain should be counter a little by less hardisk access... just my wishful thinking blush.gif

4gb ram will reduce battery life by alot or little in a long run?

lets say 2gb = 8 hour
4gb = ??

should be more or less the same (say, still 8 hours?)... i think, the 2GB ram watt is neglectable....

actually if they know the problem and have ready parts, they can finish within 1 hour.but usually they still have to test the unit for several day to make sure evrything working fine

guys,

finally got a good 3 hours play with Darksiders; this time with New driver from Acer and BIOS 1.19. i was suspecting that my temperature increased slightly before this, but i think i was wrong tongue.gif

Measured by letting CPUID Hardware Monitor running in background all the time, started Darksiders, play for about 3 hours...

Max CPU: 89 Celsius!
Max GPU: 79 Celsius!

I don't use any cooler. The CPU is a little on the high side, but still less than 90, so, should be still OK. If any higher, I might consider applying my own thermal parse.

After game, browsing:

CPU: 42 - 46
GPU: 46

I have been playing Darksider for 2 weeks, still haven't complete the game!!! Now already inside The Black Throne... how guardro did it in 13 hours???? Pro gamer...

you can only install the 64 bit version when you do a clean install, because your OEM key is only meant for the 64 bit.

fyi, the 64bit OS is referred to as x64, the 32bit OS is referred to as x86.
*
i think any key support 32bit or 64bit, just cant upgrade/downgrade, have to clean install.
