we all know weather has been hot recently, even my room dun have window connecting to outside i also beh tahan the heat.....so i came up with this.

Where you get the ice?

how often u need to change the ice? every 10 mins?
if use dry ice, how are u gonna make it auto refill?

Good concept, but not practical enough.

Have u seen an air cooler before? Same principle, just add water and/or ice and cool air comes out. Perhaps you should invest in one of those.

if u dun mind paying more, air-con always the most effective way to cold down d room temp. nowadays air con doesnt consume electric as much as last time.

Have you tried it? How many battrey are you using? What is the amount of ice you put? Perhaps the air cond is more efficient if you have to use a lot of ice.

Yes, it will work as this has the same principal as an air cooler but your design need major improvement as it is not efficient. In fact, very wasteful of energy.
Maybe, you should think of WHY is your room hot and how to cool it down?

Don't get discouraged. Just so happen you're not early enough. The concept is good. The main criticism from all the above amounts to "you're too late". Well, it's not your fault you weren't born 120 years ago.

Your idea is logical but not practical meaning the design makes sense but won't be as good as an ordinary fan...

Is this a joke? Contribution to mandkind? You mean before the invention of air conditioner and air cooler? Are you in primary school?

I think coolers based on this concept is already available where the ice cubes need to be constantly replaced....
Some (especially the Chinese) say its actually not good for the body due to the damp air...

some constructive scientific discussion rather than the "OMFG NOOB!"

1. cold air tends to sink down. by putting your fan above the cubes, you are not really blowing much cool air
2. thats about it, to take the efficiency a step further up would mean a lot more extra complexity that i think is beyond casual hacks

Don't laugh at the idea of ice cubes. I wish I had the source, But I have read of american city towers using ice cubes to supplement the cooling systems during summer, because when the ice cubes get VERY large, they are tremendously efective (way more effective than normal air conditioning heat exchange units). At the end of the day, the melted ice is still cool and easy to refreeze. The total energy savings are quite substantial. Maybe if you're interested you can google it up ( =

Simple idea may turn out to be more effective if the idea to deploy them is right not based on the drawing above like reinvent the existing technology.
