We have government Hospitals... yet you still want to have baby delivered in private hospital? And complains about the fees they charge for a mere normal delivery?

Did you know that private hospital will push your wife and baby to the government hospital the moment they couldnt handle any complication that occured during your wife's childbirth?

I am speaking as a medical doctor working in a  government Obstetrics and Gynecology department.

not true general hospitals got most experts - many are dead woods head of dept, most times  attending meeting ,
and entertaining VIPs.

The real working experts are not many, junior doctors many are waiting to practise on you.

private hospitals refer to general hospitals is not becos general hospital more experts. It is becos  bad cases with bad results private hospital cannot take risk, die in their  hospitals get bad names.  More important reason is usually cost of treatment is getting out of control, ICU very expensive, somemore later patient die, relative wont pay, so quickly throw case out to general hospital.

I do agree the doctors in GH are very good. The only downside is the nurse. They treat the patient like sh*t, yell and scream at patient. That's why alot people don't want go GH because of these kinds of treatment else GH is cheap and good.

it should be around that price. may i know which hospital that u went to?

im with Colombia for my wife and it cost us 200++ per visit and if we take vitamins it will add up another 50 + and if there is urine + blood test it will cost us somewhere 300++

Is really not a necessity to go private hospital. Is just another choice. Government hospital is good as any private hospital. My wife delivernin putrajaya hospital and stay in single room. Is twins baby. I really like the nurse and service. Had been to Columbia before went to government hospital, I have to say government hospital so much better and very very cheap

panel la so why waste? plus it is nearer to my house compared to GH and I want lady doc to deliver our baby. if we dont get panel for delivery, of course i will go to GH.

this is not about choosing panel over wife and baby health. i never mentioned anything about GH, let alone saying anything bad about delivering in GH.

out of sudden, you choose to reply me with your GH experienced, you have problem for me not going to GH? your money, your choice la brother. even if you choose to deliver in your house, its not my problem.

as i mentioned, i go to private hospital coz its nearer, MUSLIM lady doc & its just to happened, its our panel hospital. i still cant brain why out of the sudden u wanna bring up the issue of me choosing private over GH? and yes, my wife, my baby, my money, my problem.

It seems there are good feedback on government hospital especially GH and putrajaya. But not HUKM althought they said is semi-gov. The cut still very obvious at my wife stomach. 
Next round will try at putrajaya

I m new here, going to deliver my 2nd bb on October..going to start my monthly check up at KKIA. 1st bb delivered in Hospital Selayang..really like their service but nowadays is far away from my house so i still surveying going which gov hospital to deliver.

i know a lot of ppl opt for FPP scheme, what if i didnt opt for FPP scheme ...the pink color book given by KKIA is it more than enough for me to admit  ? do i still need any refer letter from KKIA before i go to putrajaya to deliver when i due?

My wife 36 weeks also on placenta previa got bit contraction doctor immediately emergency c sect

if private may say nothing depend on emergency bleeding, once bleeding there is risk. better safe than worries

If your baby is big enough , then can anytime csect
If worries better stay in hospital for less movement and you rest so there is less risky and your baby can remain inside to grow until the 40 weeks then do c sect

For 36 weeks if not mistaken is consider fully develop

as mostly many cases got issue or is twins or born two times in one years they also advise to c sect in 36 weeks

confirm your information is not true, my baby was born healthy and beside my wife when out of the spot and after clean up go back to our room with us

and also my cousin sister also early 36 weeks c sect also same baby healthy no need oxygen box

I want to start survey places to deliver my baby near Selayang and so far I already gather 3 places which are Pristine Women, Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Tunku Azizah Maternity Home. I heard good things about Pristine Women but my wife insist she wants a Muslim women as the doctor so I will leave that one out.

So anyone have a history with Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Tunku Azizah Maternity Home that can tell a little bit story about them? Or anyone want to add another good place to recommend near Selayang / Batu Caves / Wangsa Maju?

Very true. I also said the same thing in term of getting ready if there's going to be any complication. Hope everything went well. Just come back from a normal check-up and one of the doctor said that got one patient that overcoming a complication that needs the mum and baby go to ICU and the cost was RM37,000.

BTW, the case happen at Pusrawi. Hope we all never go until that extent in delivering baby.

Hi, i am in my 5th week of pregnancy too. Just wondering if we go KK for check up at 6th month , will we get 'bomb' from the nurses? In fact it is super long queue n troublesome to go check up at kk. So just wondering when should i register ... 😑

Hello! I'm now in my 21st week of pregnancy, due in early August!
In the begining, I had been going every month check up at KKIA and private (Dr. Aziz @ Gleneagles Ampang).

Since I will NOT be delivering in Gleneagles (cost and also a bad experience unrelated to baby there), I am now looking for alternative DR for my monthly check up to supplement KKIA. Reason is KKIA never did any scan for me for last 4 mths, and I didn't see any MO or Dr for the last 3 out of 4 visits.
Or, I was wondering if I should just decide NOW where I will deliver my bb, and follow up there with their Dr? Better right?

I made appt with UMMC (formerly UM Hospital) for 5th May to see Dr and pay booking. But now I am having cold feet to deliver there as I heard some scary stories on nurses.

Visited HUKM (the govt side seems like 20 bed cram in one small room, perhaps its waiting room and after delivery room.) But am not decided about delivering there neither.

Visited Hospital Ampang after being told some good story, but no booking of bed allowed and no Dr to do check up before your delivery. Just go with KKIA book when you think its time... I like the hospital BUT its too scary for me... if they are full they will simply transfer me to another GH.

Was asked to consider other options like private clinics that deliver babies instead of hospital.

I wonder if you could help give some advice or suggestions on :
1. Private clinics to deliver bb around KL (Ampang/Cheras)
2. Experience in UMSC, UKMSC, or UMMC, UKMMC or Hospital Ampang.
3. I am looking for hubby friendly hospital so he can stay over the night and help me. If possible I would love a hospital/clinic which allow me to choose delivery position, or before delivery does not confine me to bed. And not scalpel friendly as I do not want the episiotomy and epidural nor c-sect if possible.

Thank you for your suggestion and views.
I don't think that govt are lazy laaa. I have very high regard to my nurses. As you said, many of them more experienced than the fresh graduated Dr. and MO
I understand that their resources are limited and they have many patients to handle daily, thus why the Dr will not see every patient.
My personal feeling is that while this is no fault of the KKIA or nurses, I feel better if I could get a bit more attention, ie have dr consultation and an ultrascan.
Partially due to my age factor, first child at 39, so its better to have a dr to be more thorough.
And for this, I am willing to pay, hence looking out for private practice Dr with clinic (not hospital) nearby Ampang/KL.
I'm not a chit chatty person, and certainly not when I am in contractions or after delivery. Can say I am a bit introverted.
Again for this I am willing to pay for own room, thus looking out for any good recommendations for UKMSC, UMSC or Hospital Putrajaya (under Full paying patient scheme) or other maternity centers around KL, in order for me to make up my decision.

How should I go about it if I'm  looking for FPP ya?  Still register at KK first? Or go to the hosp straight  away?
