Why not try general hospital? It is way cheaper and having the most experts around. Since when have problem, private hospital will refer to general hospital also.

QUOTE(CyberSetan @ Dec 6 2014, 11:40 PM) We have government Hospitals... yet you still want to have baby delivered in private hospital? And complains about the fees they charge for a mere normal delivery? My wife just give birth, need to do c-sec Did you know that private hospital will push your wife and baby to the government hospital the moment they couldnt handle any complication that occured during your wife's childbirth? I am speaking as a medical doctor working in a government Obstetrics and Gynecology department. What to do, baby's head keep on moving up and down. Lots of people never know that in Malaysia, the top 3 O&G hospital is in Seremban's Tuanku Jaafar hospital because of the head of department that really an expert in this field. And the new block just for O&G opened recently and the facilties inside are really good and advance. In Seremban, always only Columbia's Dr. Khoo(old man that can't do operation, that's why keep on suggest natural deliver which get his name), KPJ's Dr. Ivan Lee(cause a death before), Dr. Rekha and Dr. Yoong that has their clinic in town. Price are freaking expensive. If let the above doctors do c-sec, at least rm6000 for workmanship and without paying rm12000(minimum), wife and baby will held hostage. But I only pay ~rm1700(buy cake and fruit juice for the nurse as token of appreciation) to get 1st class room and operation done by the head of department, Dr. Krishna Kumar. And for the 1 whole week in GH, all the meals I take(not my wife since I brought her food) in GH, even better than private hospital's food(like rubbish). But I still need to thanks to people that like to boast how much money they wasted in private hospital to get 3rd class service, so now GH are not as much patients as before. |

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Dec 28 2014, 02:28 PM) not true general hospitals got most experts - many are dead woods head of dept, most times attending meeting , Basically our case was referred to GH from private hospital. And my wife was critical and yet I need to settle full payment only they willing to release her.and entertaining VIPs. The real working experts are not many, junior doctors many are waiting to practise on you. private hospitals refer to general hospitals is not becos general hospital more experts. It is becos bad cases with bad results private hospital cannot take risk, die in their hospitals get bad names. More important reason is usually cost of treatment is getting out of control, ICU very expensive, somemore later patient die, relative wont pay, so quickly throw case out to general hospital. Why my wife can be critical? Because that stupid doctor's mind only how to dig money from us, asking my wife to simply take something that not required. Each month's check up sure touches rm300 minimum. And do visit Hospital Tuanku Jaafar in Seremban before you want to discriminate GH are bad. My wife are being examined by their head of department, even when doing c-sec, also done by him. First day my wife can't move at all due to the drug used. But after 20 hours she can move along and never feel pain at all. Now she is in confinement center and all mothers are sitting together and chit chat. All did c-sec in private hospitals do feel the pain and worst case only can move around after 2 weeks. At GH's labor room, there will be 1 specialist on 24 hours stand by with minimum 6 doctors doing normal delivery works. And without hospital Tuanku Jaafar, there won't be SKLs in private hospitals as most of them are trained from this hospital. |

QUOTE(wongck @ Dec 28 2014, 08:24 PM) I do agree the doctors in GH are very good. The only downside is the nurse. They treat the patient like sh*t, yell and scream at patient. That's why alot people don't want go GH because of these kinds of treatment else GH is cheap and good. You need to have skills dealing with them.First time(still born) and now we are getting best in class service from the nurse. They never yell at us also. Even I can go in without restrictions after visiting hours(as long as doctors not around). I always bring some snacks for them. And when discharge, a cake. You may call this as bribing them |

QUOTE(biofuel @ Mar 8 2015, 02:44 PM) it should be around that price. may i know which hospital that u went to? We always went to GH and KK and it only cost us rm5 each visit(petrol) and each visit only took us 3 hours. And during delivery, with c-sec and first class bed only cost me rm1600 with another rm100 I bought cakes and drinks for the nurses. Case handled by Malaysia's best O&G specialist, Dr. Krishna Kumar. No infection and the cut cannot be seen already.im with Colombia for my wife and it cost us 200++ per visit and if we take vitamins it will add up another 50 + and if there is urine + blood test it will cost us somewhere 300++ |

QUOTE(sonerin @ Mar 8 2015, 07:48 PM) Is really not a necessity to go private hospital. Is just another choice. Government hospital is good as any private hospital. My wife delivernin putrajaya hospital and stay in single room. Is twins baby. I really like the nurse and service. Had been to Columbia before went to government hospital, I have to say government hospital so much better and very very cheap GH are cheap and offering BIC service that non of the private hospitals can give. |

QUOTE(biofuel @ Mar 8 2015, 10:47 PM) this is not about choosing panel over wife and baby health. i never mentioned anything about GH, let alone saying anything bad about delivering in GH. Basically, we were visiting private hospital all the time until something happens.out of sudden, you choose to reply me with your GH experienced, you have problem for me not going to GH? your money, your choice la brother. even if you choose to deliver in your house, its not my problem. as i mentioned, i go to private hospital coz its nearer, MUSLIM lady doc & its just to happened, its our panel hospital. i still cant brain why out of the sudden u wanna bring up the issue of me choosing private over GH? and yes, my wife, my baby, my money, my problem. thanks anyway The doctor in private hospital never tell us the problem, keep on saying ok but my wife's BP were 170/110 at that time. |

QUOTE(wongck @ Mar 9 2015, 07:50 AM) It seems there are good feedback on government hospital especially GH and putrajaya. But not HUKM althought they said is semi-gov. The cut still very obvious at my wife stomach. It shall be 100% owned by government then only can say providing good service. Semi or 100% private will not give good service.Next round will try at putrajaya QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Mar 9 2015, 10:39 AM) is like dat. if gomen klinik / hospital if ur BP dat high a. pain in d a$$ lo. d nurse die die also will try get lower BP. if still cant, cannot go bc. straight admit to hospital @.@ Not really, in KK or GH, once high BP detected, will straight away catch you. |

QUOTE(espace_2001 @ Mar 12 2015, 02:59 PM) Dear All, Usually you need to change house address for justification to change KK and GH. Else you will be scold by them.I m new here, going to deliver my 2nd bb on October..going to start my monthly check up at KKIA. 1st bb delivered in Hospital Selayang..really like their service but nowadays is far away from my house so i still surveying going which gov hospital to deliver. i know a lot of ppl opt for FPP scheme, what if i didnt opt for FPP scheme ...the pink color book given by KKIA is it more than enough for me to admit ? do i still need any refer letter from KKIA before i go to putrajaya to deliver when i due? QUOTE(SFerrari @ Mar 12 2015, 04:57 PM) Read more info on placenta previa stage 3 is serious, depend you got contraction a not 36 weeks are too early and baby's internal organs are not fully developed. 38th weeks onward will be safer for c-sec.My wife 36 weeks also on placenta previa got bit contraction doctor immediately emergency c sect if private may say nothing depend on emergency bleeding, once bleeding there is risk. better safe than worries If your baby is big enough , then can anytime csect If worries better stay in hospital for less movement and you rest so there is less risky and your baby can remain inside to grow until the 40 weeks then do c sect Private hospital sure say nothing as any emergency, they can charge more. Such doctors only thinking of how to secure their wallet's health rather than mother/baby's health. |

QUOTE(SFerrari @ Mar 13 2015, 01:39 PM) Your answer is based on experience, knowledge or google? Is what the doctors in GH said.confirm your information is not true, my baby was born healthy and beside my wife when out of the spot and after clean up go back to our room with us and also my cousin sister also early 36 weeks c sect also same baby healthy no need oxygen box Forgot to mention, the Seremban's GH doctors are very lazy, so they will chase mother and baby out ASAP. But I don't know why health department throw few millions to build another O&G block and keep Dr. Krishna in Hospital Tuanku Jaafar. This post has been edited by supersound: Mar 13 2015, 04:16 PM |

QUOTE(shafiqq07 @ Mar 19 2015, 11:13 AM) Hello. When talk about O&G, don't be racist.I want to start survey places to deliver my baby near Selayang and so far I already gather 3 places which are Pristine Women, Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Tunku Azizah Maternity Home. I heard good things about Pristine Women but my wife insist she wants a Muslim women as the doctor so I will leave that one out. So anyone have a history with Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Tunku Azizah Maternity Home that can tell a little bit story about them? Or anyone want to add another good place to recommend near Selayang / Batu Caves / Wangsa Maju? Thank you. Health are more important for both. Just think it this way : you got a Muslim O&G doctor from now till the big day. But on the big day your wife have complications and this doctor are not competent when dealing with complications. Then she refer your wife to GH which most of them are non Muslim. At this time, your wife still want to be racist and saying I need a Muslim doctor:shakehead: |

QUOTE(shafiqq07 @ Mar 19 2015, 04:11 PM) Very true. I also said the same thing in term of getting ready if there's going to be any complication. Hope everything went well. Just come back from a normal check-up and one of the doctor said that got one patient that overcoming a complication that needs the mum and baby go to ICU and the cost was RM37,000. Always remember, getting a new child is like fighting with death. Cannot be to optimistic.BTW, the case happen at Pusrawi. Hope we all never go until that extent in delivering baby. |

QUOTE(BLET @ Mar 28 2015, 08:01 AM) Hi, i am in my 5th week of pregnancy too. Just wondering if we go KK for check up at 6th month , will we get 'bomb' from the nurses? In fact it is super long queue n troublesome to go check up at kk. So just wondering when should i register ... 😑 You need to survey around KK near your area, then put the address(be it your friend or relative) for the KK that having lesser people. Then choose the right time, usually I'll prefer the main KK as it is always have full work force compare to those smaller. We always take 2pm or 10am. So no matter how long the queue is, 2 hours of waiting time only |

QUOTE(Lolie @ Mar 28 2015, 02:12 PM) Hello! I'm now in my 21st week of pregnancy, due in early August! You may say the government are quite lazy on not referring you to a doctor. In the begining, I had been going every month check up at KKIA and private (Dr. Aziz @ Gleneagles Ampang). Since I will NOT be delivering in Gleneagles (cost and also a bad experience unrelated to baby there), I am now looking for alternative DR for my monthly check up to supplement KKIA. Reason is KKIA never did any scan for me for last 4 mths, and I didn't see any MO or Dr for the last 3 out of 4 visits. Or, I was wondering if I should just decide NOW where I will deliver my bb, and follow up there with their Dr? Better right? I made appt with UMMC (formerly UM Hospital) for 5th May to see Dr and pay booking. But now I am having cold feet to deliver there as I heard some scary stories on nurses. Visited HUKM (the govt side seems like 20 bed cram in one small room, perhaps its waiting room and after delivery room.) But am not decided about delivering there neither. Visited Hospital Ampang after being told some good story, but no booking of bed allowed and no Dr to do check up before your delivery. Just go with KKIA book when you think its time... I like the hospital BUT its too scary for me... if they are full they will simply transfer me to another GH. Was asked to consider other options like private clinics that deliver babies instead of hospital. I wonder if you could help give some advice or suggestions on : 1. Private clinics to deliver bb around KL (Ampang/Cheras) 2. Experience in UMSC, UKMSC, or UMMC, UKMMC or Hospital Ampang. 3. I am looking for hubby friendly hospital so he can stay over the night and help me. If possible I would love a hospital/clinic which allow me to choose delivery position, or before delivery does not confine me to bed. And not scalpel friendly as I do not want the episiotomy and epidural nor c-sect if possible. Thanks in advance for helping me to decide the delivery place and the Dr too... But the fact is, most of the nurses in KKIA are more competent than doctors or MO. And they should be referring you to GH for schedule check up, where the specialist will do ultrasound scan of your baby. Actually is good that you have some partners in the room, you can gain more knowledge by chit chat with them. Time also pass faster. |

QUOTE(Lolie @ Mar 29 2015, 02:07 PM) Hi Supersound, After delivery, chit chat is the best tool to keep you calm Thank you for your suggestion and views. I don't think that govt are lazy laaa. I have very high regard to my nurses. As you said, many of them more experienced than the fresh graduated Dr. and MO I understand that their resources are limited and they have many patients to handle daily, thus why the Dr will not see every patient. My personal feeling is that while this is no fault of the KKIA or nurses, I feel better if I could get a bit more attention, ie have dr consultation and an ultrascan. Partially due to my age factor, first child at 39, so its better to have a dr to be more thorough. And for this, I am willing to pay, hence looking out for private practice Dr with clinic (not hospital) nearby Ampang/KL. I'm not a chit chatty person, and certainly not when I am in contractions or after delivery. Can say I am a bit introverted. Again for this I am willing to pay for own room, thus looking out for any good recommendations for UKMSC, UMSC or Hospital Putrajaya (under Full paying patient scheme) or other maternity centers around KL, in order for me to make up my decision. Those nurse will still do normal check up for you, they will only refer you to doctor when they see something not right. |
