Hi Lolie!

Congratulations!  Just wanna share with you on my delivery experience - I delivered at UMSC.

I was there last July, delivered my baby boy, naturally and very fast also actually.  I went to see Dr Siti at UMSC, and she's the calmest and nicest dr I've met so far.  I followed up at a private clinic though, and got referred to Dr Siti as I was a little adamant bout natural birth for my first baby.

The day I went for my last checkup at Wk39, Dr found out I was 3cm dilated, so she admitted me right away, we had fun in the room.  As UMSC is a private wing, there's only 3 delivery room.  Very comfortable, and equivalent to private hospital (I was supposed to deliver in Pantai Bangsar, confirmed, saw the delivery room but chicken out due to the many stories, and my personal dr don't want to deliver for me). Nurses in UMSC are also very friendly and helpful.  Experienced nurses too (old aunty nurses, young nurses, they probably see too many babies and deliver too many babies, lol).  They are also breastfeeding friendly, which helps, as they will push the baby in for you in the middle of the night if he's hungry.  If they think you need more rest, they will also make necessary arrangements.

It was a private room, in UMSC, mostly, it's all private room.  My hubby stayed with me throughout the 2nights I was there.  I didn't take any epidural, but had a episiotomy.  Recovery was ok too!

My whole experience was very pleasant, if you'd like to find out more, do just pm me.

However, the cost is not cheap.  Total cost of delivery was around 4.5k.  My friend who had an emergency, so she went to UMMC instead, only spent RM800.  Big difference in price, BUT, same treatment o!  If I'd known, I would have went to UMMC.  But I got no pink card, and I didn't have much time to wait in gov clinics for check ups.  So that was my trade offs.

Hope this helps though!  I was searching high low for information before delivery also, and thank goodness for mummies who share!

Have a happy pregnancy!
