QUOTE(Neoraj @ Nov 23 2013, 07:54 PM) Good day everyone, First of all congratulation to you and ur wife. My colleague just delivered there and she is quite happy with their service. Btw, she done the water birth there with Dr. Idora. My wife is also following Dr Idora now and we are expecting our baby next Jan. A father to be here and my wifey just completed her first trimester recently. So far been taking her to Pantai Hosp in Bangsar. Can't really complain about the service there but I'd like to get feedback from mums who have given birth there recently as to how was the experience. Also what can I expect to pay for both normal delivery and C sect when the time comes? I did have wifey admitted in Pantai about a month ago due severe morning sickness and had difficulty to secure a single room in the maternity ward and was informed that they only have 4 single rooms which are almost always full. As such I'm reconsidering if we should look at other hospitals in the vicinity. We chose this hospital because it's the closest to where we are now. Would certainly appreciate any feedback from dads or mums who have chose Pantai Bangsar to deliver their baby recently. Thank you for your replies ! Have a pleasant weekend! As for the charges, it really very much depending on what your wife and the baby going to use. For my colleague, her damage is about 5.6K (natural water birth without epidural). |

QUOTE(OperaGhost @ Jan 9 2014, 03:47 PM) Anyone got the price list of Pantai Bangsar. Wifey gonna follow up with Dr Raman frm FMGC and labor will be at Pantai Bangsar. Thanks Since you are asking then only i share our experience. My wife just deliver our son last week at Pantai KL (or Bangsar). It was totally a nightmare, my wife was admitted to Pantai on 31st Dec for induction as we wanted to have a new year baby. But she was discharged on the 4th day after 3 times of tablet insertion to soften her cervix + 2 times of membrane sweep. Do note, after induction, you started to feel contraction and it is also very painful when Dr perform the membrane sweep. This was our first disappointment as this is the first time we heard induce and baby is not coming out. My wife started to feel real contraction on 2nd day after she discharged from pantai and her water broke on the 3rd day after she discharged. I rushed her to hospital again feeling all excited because this time it was a real labor. The nurses told us we have 12 hours duration for the baby to come out even the water bag rapture. But we waited for 3 hours then only the doc came to assess my wife. Then she told us we can wait for 24 hours. Some of the nurses are just not that experienced and the advice they gave u are not consistence. Some of them are nice but not all.The real nightmare started after we waited for more than 24 hours and yet my wife still not dilated enough (about 9cm). In between, i did asked the Dr if we can do anything to expedite the dilation process but she said my wife is doing fine (somehow she managed to convince me or she left me with no choice). We just wait and wait. Finally I couldn't wait any longer and I insist the Dr to come immediately after my wife water bag burst for more than 24 hours. Finally the doc came and checked on my wife, still 9cm and she said need to wait for another 1 - 2 hours. Do note, during that time the baby already exposed to infection since the water already break for more than 24 hours. Then i asked the doc if we can immediately deliver the baby. She then started to push the cervix open (DAMN PAIN FOR MY WIFE) and i can see even more water rushing out and some of it are blood. During that time, there weren't any midwive beside the doctor until my wife shouted very loud as she was in pain, then one of the midwife rushed in and immediately she saw the doc started to deliver my baby then she put on the glove and assist the doc. After 1 and half hours my wife using all her strength to push, finally she is tired. Doc used the vacuum to suck my baby's head till the vacuum loosen by itself and my son's skin got peel off. She then started to use forceps but my wife already no more energy to push and doc suggest to go for C-sec. Our baby boy was born finally but due to he was already exposed to risk of infections for more than 24 hours, he has to be given antibiotic for 3 days and his breathing is not stable and also his lung has water. He was admitted to NICU for 4 days. Total damage? >RM20K. Choose the right doctor, choose the right hospital! The money u paid can earn back, but the life u put ur faith on cannot earn back! For our case, we have chosen the wrong doctor, the wrong hospital ... We will never go back to that hospital anymore This post has been edited by jootat: Jan 15 2014, 11:25 AM |

QUOTE(koh_424 @ Jan 15 2014, 04:51 PM) Sorry to hear bout your case. when we reached the hospital, all the midwife also said it's 12 hours. But our doc told us it's 24 hours. haihz ... I did not want to mention our doctor's name here because all these while, she has been a very caring, detailed, patience and soft spoken doctor. But if you guys wanted to know more, you can PM me. Since my complain is not targeting only the doc but the overall experience in pantai bangsar. But what i heard from my Doc said. When the water bag rapture., the waiting period longest is 12hrs. I & my wife waited in the labor room for 10hrs+ in before proceed to C-seg. |

QUOTE(dlcentury @ Jan 17 2014, 06:00 PM) Wow, reading your story alone makes my heart skips... Choose the right doctor, choose the right hospital! The money u paid can earn back, but the life u put ur faith on cannot earn back! Well said... hope your wife and baby is fine now. Mommy and BB is now fine. Just sharing my exp so that those who considering their options now will be aware.QUOTE(duhdude @ Jan 19 2014, 11:07 AM) I can feel your pain and too. I delivered via election c sec at pantai bangsar last yr sept but I quite happy their service. The gynae really not professional, cause you, wife and son in such dangerous situation. Some nurses really nice but i would said majority of it are just wearing mask and treat u nicely. Some of them only are really nice to you from their heart. I bought some gift for those that i felt is nice since my son was in ICU during that time and i can see them really taking efforts to jaga my son.QUOTE(athur @ Jan 19 2014, 04:54 PM) I can totally feel your pain. but my O&G actually told me that once the water broken, longest is bout 12 hours, and if not the baby is expose to infection .... That's the thing, what i heard is also 12 hours but the doctors overwrites everything right? She said 24 hours. Then after my son was delivered, he was diagnosed with antibiotic because he was exposed to infections due to water break for more than 24 hours. I really want to shout Wat the F ... |

QUOTE(sonerin @ Jan 20 2014, 09:45 PM) Given new born antibiotic is a bad thing. Might have side effect when they grow up. Is not recommended to give antibiotic until a child is 1 year. That will be the norm It's too late and I was leave with no choice as I do not have any medical knowledge background. What had happened already happened, what I can do now is just pray for the blessing. But do you mind to share with me what's the side effects that you may know of? |
