Total delivery cost for my baby in May 2012 = <RM50 (including charges for baby)

Delivered in Penang Government Hospital, natural birth with epidural (i requested for epidural a month before my delivery and they allowed as i'm asthmatic + 1st baby)

p/s: they only gave me a small doze of epidural as i was already 7cm dilated at that point.

2 days 1 night at 3rd class ward. For the price I paid, I got no complaints. The nurses and trainee doctors gathered around and cheered for me when I was pushing. Had more than 10 audience in the labor room =)

My episiotomy was stitched by a staff nurse and she was very professional. Healed well and they were really helpful. The only down side was when the houseman tried to insert the catheter, it was darn painful.

Never thought that I'll be having so many people cheering for me though. Was in instense pain that time, didn't even bother who else is watching other than the doctor. Hubs told me that the whole team was filled with spirit cos I was the only patient left in the labor room when they're changing shifts. So ended up with lots of audience =)

Baby was all cleaned and passed back to me for the first latch within 30 minutes. Nurses were very patient in guiding me. Definitely no regrets going to a government hospital.

Cannot recall the doctor's name. A houseman attended to my case.

Cousin delivered her baby boy last month at Taiping General Hospital. First class ward, 3 days 2 night stay + nurse took charge of baby, RM800.

the husband thought it was expensive i heard.
for her 2nd baby she delivered at GH too but 3rd class ward, less than RM200 i think.
suddenly 3rd baby upgraded to 1st class ward.
