Hey all, my wife is a foreigner and she hasn't gotten her PR.
As I know few years back Gov has increased the price of medical care for foreigners without PR status, even though spouse is Malaysian.
Anyone has any information how much does it cost for a foreigner to deliver a baby in gov hospital now? Eg: UMMC / Putrajaya Hospital
Because I was contemplating if the cost to deliver a baby in Gov hospital is so high for a foreigner, might as well go for Private like Sunway Medical / Columbia / KPJ for a more comfortable environment overall.
Also I got a flyer at Sunway medical centre, they're having a promo now and normal delivery cost about RM3,500 - RM4,500, valid until 31st Dec 2018. Excluding some doctor consultation & specialist charges though.

For foreigner, the charge is double. You may top up to this section if you have more information. Cheers!

QUOTE(lotter92 @ Nov 16 2019, 02:04 PM) My wife just delivered a boy at one of the gov hospital. The bill? RM 3.00 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « She's a government doctor and she delivered at the hospital she worked. Still, I feel blessed plus, everything was comfortable enough for us and the baby. Nice... Those money could be saved for so many other important things like diaper, medical care, insurance or even a family trip. Anyway how was your encounter at gov hospital? Nurse or houseman help your wife deliver?

QUOTE(DimitriKT @ Nov 18 2019, 06:04 PM) Hi, May I know what's FPP patient? May I know should I make appointment with the Government Hospital earlier? My wife expected delivery Apr'20. This is our first time, your advice is highly appreciate. Thanks KT FPP = Full paying patient, it's a scheme where you can choose your desired doctor in selected hospital. Putrajaya is one of them. My sister in law delivered there and their testimonial on the hospital were mostly positive. And unlike most gov hospital, a proper doctor will deliver your baby in putrajaya hospital.
