The best and fully equiped hospital to give birth in KK is actually Hospital Wanita dan Kanak2 Sabah (aka Hospital Likas).

http://hwkks.moh.gov.my/

Its a government Hospital with many consultants and specialists, and it serves as a referral Hospital for the entire Sabah.
(meaning - ALL complicated pregnancy cases will be referred to this Hospital)

It wont cost an arm and a leg to give birth or to have c-section (if indicated) there (even 1st class room wont cost so much)...

See here:

http://hwkks.moh.gov.my/data/pdfdocS.i.m.x...dar.bayaran.pdf

....and within the same building there is the Pediatric department with its own consultants and specialists - should your baby have any complication at birth (God Forbids), the neonatal unit is ready to treat your baby.

Opps...urs was lower price, as i checked this morning.
The officer told me price for normal birth year  2015 is

Columbia Asia - Bukit Rimau
Normal natural birth ~6k+
C-Sect ~9k+
Worst thing,Dr Loo available slot only on Jan 2015 onwards for new patients

Sunway Medical Center - Sunway
Normal natural birth ~7k+
C-Sect ~8~9k+

What surprise & how to afford to born a baby in future?

We have government Hospitals... yet you still want to have baby delivered in private hospital? And complains about the fees they charge for a mere normal delivery? biggrin.gif

Did you know that private hospital will push your wife and baby to the government hospital the moment they couldnt handle any complication that occured during your wife's childbirth?

I am speaking as a medical doctor working in a government Obstetrics and Gynecology department.

Why pay so much for delivery @ Private Hospitals... ?
See here for the actual cost of delivering in a Government Hospital:

Hi all. new dad to be here smile.gif

My wife expected to due on June 2016. She's currently working as MO at one of the Goverment Hospital in Klang Valley
and Im currently working in private sector also in Klang Valley

And from what she told me, she entitled of first class treatment at Goverment Hospital depends on avaibility.
And my current company also support up to rm3.5k for maternity cost for spouse

My question now is what do guys think is the best option for my wife and is there any way to use my company maternity allocation for her?

I plan for her to deliver at private but the cost is too high and afraid if there is C-section then the cost would be higher.

Pls recommend me best Hospital huhu

You want to try new Govt Hospitals? Eg: Putrajaya Hospital?
The charges should be the same as in the link i gave previously.

You mentioned that your company provide RM3.5k for maternity purpose.

Many Govt hospital nowadays provide this service:

You should call the hospital for further details.
