I delivered at TMC (Tropicana Medical Centre) 2 years ago, and I'm going to deliver again there in this coming August. If anyone has any question regarding TMC (from a mother's point of view only), please PM me.

hi..im new here.
this week im on a mission searching for a hospital to deliver my 3rd baby.

i prefer to deliver within the area of klang valley/kl.
I was schedule to have a c-section, it was my 3rd time due to complications for the past 2 delivery.

here are my findings (i hope it'll help)

1) Columbia Asia Puchong.
c section cost : (inclusive of o&g fees, medication for mother, nursery, baby 1st jab, rooms) & meal --> RM 6K-8.5K
normal cost : (inclusive of all above charges ) --> Rm 2.9k - 3.5K

2) PPUM, KL
- if u r gov't staff..just show your GL and it will be FOC
if not, u r required to pay RM500 in deposit.
for c section : the op. will be conducted by doctor in training (masters students) training to be expert n supervised by the lecturer the prof. of the same Uni. (UM)
cant choose the doctor, however it will depends on who's available during that particular day.
-During the day, u can have visitors and someone from ur immediate family to look after u. But during the night,
every one must out from the ward and only nurses are to be allowed to be looking after the patients n baby.

3) UMSC (PPUM private wing)
-ur gov't GL are invalid here.
for c-section : the estimated price is from RM7K and up. Deposit of RM7K are to be paid upon registration.
The Dr? of course u can choose.
The rate of the Dr may be varied. The price might go higher than RM7K.
The Dr are from the proffessor from the UM.
I believe they r really expert by looking at the price tag (phewww)

4) DEMC, Shah Alam
c-section (all in price, baby, meals, colsultancy, rooms etc) starting price are from ---> RM8K - 10K

choose wisely.

There's only one doc who does the checkups, not sure if he's doing the deliveries as well. His name is Dr. Suhaimi Hassan, and so far my experiences for the monthly checks have been really pleasant. He listens to your worries and takes time to explain things to you.

My checkups usually amount to RM200-RM300 for ultrasound, consultation and prenatal meds.

There 's another gynae that did the deliveries too. His name is Suhaimi Isa. Both Suhaimi also do deliveries. But i choose Suhaimi Isa instead after read several reviews about him.I can say Suhaimi Isa is a good gynae too. He listen and always there for you as i still remembered an incident where the nurse has made a wrong appointment for me.. then they called up Dr. Suhaimi Isa and he appearead thereafter.

First checkup is usually very expensive. My first check up cost me around RM300, then after that it mostly RM130 - 150.
It depends what kind of ultrasound you did..2D is the cheapest and 4D is the most expensive.
I only bought Calcium med from Columbia while the rest of the meds i bought it from pharmacy. It is cheaper that way.

Yea I haven't decided yet, but most likely will deliver there as I live pretty near. Will decide once I ask their policies, prices and am further along. Only 23 weeks now.

But what I did like was that the doctor came to see me when I called in for emergency during first trimester one night for some bleeding, and another time on a Sunday evening (also there was a lady whose water broke and came in about the same time) in less than half an hour. The nurses have also been really nice, I've never encountered a sour-faced personnel throughout all my visits there.

I agree on this. They will turn up asap once they received a call from the nurse. Nurses are very helpful and not fierce. hehehe..
In terms of costing, i did ask last time. they said for normal delivery is 3.5K and c-sect is aroun 6k and above...
Gonna deliver my baby here too.. I'm in my 31 weeks now. sweat.gif

My ultrasound usually has the 4D, I did ask if he charged extra he said no. O_o I malas want to go get meds outside so I think my fees go RM250 usually cause of the meds. XD

I'd probably be delivering there too cause better to stick to the same doctor. 34weeks now.

Yea I did check out the ward. Honestly I don't like it that much cause it feels kinda cold and lonely (I've been spoilt by Gleneagles, their ward feels like a hotel room sometimes, which I think is great as it keeps you from being reminded that it's a hospital). They don't have a big enough couch or extra bed for husbands to sleep in overnight. =( I saw the largest room too, quite spacey but lacking in comfy chairs for visitors. ><

They wouldn't let me in the nursery cause there were babies in there though. Cleanliness is good. No uncomfortable smells. Not a lot of single rooms though so hope when we pop it's not peak season.

I see... does this mean that when the time come and hubby need to accompany, he wont have a comfy couch to bunk over? OMG...
This gonna be hard then... and does the alley to go to the ward looks scary.. you know i always have this imagination of spooky alley everytime i visited a hospital... i dont want to be left alone when the time comes... im such a coward... scared of ghost... laugh.gif

and does this mean that columbia setapak is lack of single room? meaning we have to share? and does the husband allow to sleep over if we share the room with other mommies to be also? OMG.. now i'm curious and suddenl y i have alot of questiion to ask! doh.gif
