Below for reference only, my baby discharged today after 4 days
Heard from my Gynae likely private docs will increase price or will stop doing baby delivery as the insurance term and price for these docs had changed, apparently they still need cont pay premium for 25 more years even after retirement (40-70k per annum) as insurance covers the baby the deliver up to 25 yrs in case of anything arise from the delivery faulted by docs Hospital - SJMC Deposit required before delivery (7k for normal delivery, 12k for cesarian) Mum: Delivery - Induced - planned for natural but last min emergency cesarean Epidural - yes, after taken normal injection pain killer Room - Single Nights - 4D4N (admit night discharge day) Total Bill -RM10.7k (6.7k hospital charges, 4k doctor charges including anesthetist for epidual injection) Baby Jaundice - yes, 1 whole day of photo therapy Injection - BCG & another dunno wat injection Nights - 3D3N total bill - RM1.8K (include 600+ for pediatric) |

Hi everyone, I gave birth on 17 Sept on my week 38 pregnancy.. Bill info to share as below:-
Hospital - Tung Shin Gynae - Dr Chuah Paediatrician - Dr Chew Mummy's Bill Delivery - natural and induced Epidural - no but given painkiller injection Room - First night double room, subsequent nights single room Nights - 4D3N Bill -RM 3.8k Baby's Bill Jaundice - Yes, 1 night of photo therapy Vaccination - BCG and Hepatitis B once born Nights - 3D2N Bill - RM1.2K Overall Bill - RM 5k *Was admitted on 16 Sept morning, delivered on 17 Sept evening, both mummy and bb need to observe for 24 hrs then only can discharge. Public holiday on 16 Sept gt double charge I guess. Overall experience is good, the midwifes are very helpful in educating my husband to assist me in contraction pain management. And the nurse also very patient in encouraging me and teach me how to breastfeed although that time was in midnight. I think more than half an hour she was there to assist me when I'm about to give up. Day 5 going back for follow up, my baby was admitted 2 days due to high bilirubin level (Jaundice). * Discharge on 24 Sept, public holiday again. Some double charge I guess. Bill - RM 1k for 48 hrs phototherapy. This post has been edited by Stinga: Oct 8 2015, 10:53 PM |

QUOTE(leeanneyou @ Aug 22 2015, 10:40 PM) Hi.. anyone from penang? We are with Dr. Eric of Island HospitalIm considering between island hospital or gleneagles in penang.. edd in april Could anyone share about those two hospital and the consultants as well.. I prefer the consultant is pro in natural birthing and breastfeeding friendly.. And also the price roughly.. Thank you Not ghe hottest doc in that hospital, therefore less queue. Nice friendly doc and he has an evening clinic on Thursdays too Used to go for 'hot' doc but waiting 1 to 2 hours for a session is just not very practical for me in the long run |

Hi
Just sharing that Roopi Medical Centre at off Jalan Ipoh is very much good and affordable as well. Normal delivery was only RM2.5k. 3 days 2 Nights. Good and attentive service from nurse and most importantly it is clean. There will be additional charges if you select Dato Roopi for labor at only RM300. |
