It seems there are good feedback on government hospital especially GH and putrajaya. But not HUKM althought they said is semi-gov. The cut still very obvious at my wife stomach.  doh.gif
Next round will try at putrajaya  icon_idea.gif

My wife had c-sec in Putrajaya. It is very good. No pain just after 3 days. Fully recover within a week. The cut heal very nicely.

There's a few female gynae listed in their website, you may have a look.
When you visit KPJ, maybe you can "interview" some nurses, which doctor is better smile.gif

Dear All,

I m new here, going to deliver my 2nd bb on October..going to start my monthly check up at KKIA. 1st bb delivered in Hospital Selayang..really like their service but nowadays is far away from my house so i still surveying going which gov hospital to deliver.

i know a lot of ppl opt for FPP scheme, what if i didnt opt for FPP scheme ...the pink color book given by KKIA is it more than enough for me to admit ? do i still need any refer letter from KKIA before i go to putrajaya to deliver when i due?

Any mummy c-sec at Hospital Universiti Malaysia?
I'm now 36 weeks and having placenta previa stage 3, doctor advised me to admit in today until the date to c sec...

And I go to SJMC after that to seek for second advise, Dr Fong said if he handle my case I no need to admit in hospital so early in case I have emergency bleeding, if not can just make appointment for c sec

Mummies and daddies here, any suggestion for me? This is my first baby, I'm kinda lost and worried.

Read more info on placenta previa stage 3 is serious, depend you got contraction a not

My wife 36 weeks also on placenta previa got bit contraction doctor immediately emergency c sect

if private may say nothing depend on emergency bleeding, once bleeding there is risk. better safe than worries

If your baby is big enough , then can anytime csect
If worries better stay in hospital for less movement and you rest so there is less risky and your baby can remain inside to grow until the 40 weeks then do c sect

Usually you need to change house address for justification to change KK and GH. Else you will be scold by them.

36 weeks are too early and baby's internal organs are not fully developed. 38th weeks onward will be safer for c-sec.
Private hospital sure say nothing as any emergency, they can charge more. Such doctors only thinking of how to secure their wallet's health rather than mother/baby's health.

Is what the doctors in GH said.
Forgot to mention, the Seremban's GH doctors are very lazy, so they will chase mother and baby out ASAP.
But I don't know why health department throw few millions to build another O&G block and keep Dr. Krishna in Hospital Tuanku Jaafar.

Hi, you may ignore his comment.
He is prejudice to all private hospitals and doctors from private hospital.
My friend's daughter also born at week 36 in a private hospital, also not in oxygen box smile.gif

Hello.

I want to start survey places to deliver my baby near Selayang and so far I already gather 3 places which are Pristine Women, Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Tunku Azizah Maternity Home. I heard good things about Pristine Women but my wife insist she wants a Muslim women as the doctor so I will leave that one out.

So anyone have a history with Pusat Perubatan Naluri and Tunku Azizah Maternity Home that can tell a little bit story about them? Or anyone want to add another good place to recommend near Selayang / Batu Caves / Wangsa Maju?

Thank you.

When talk about O&G, don't be racist.
Health are more important for both. Just think it this way : you got a Muslim O&G doctor from now till the big day.
But on the big day your wife have complications and this doctor are not competent when dealing with complications. Then she refer your wife to GH which most of them are non Muslim.
At this time, your wife still want to be racist and saying I need a Muslim doctor:shakehead:

Very true. I also said the same thing in term of getting ready if there's going to be any complication. Hope everything went well. Just come back from a normal check-up and one of the doctor said that got one patient that overcoming a complication that needs the mum and baby go to ICU and the cost was RM37,000.

BTW, the case happen at Pusrawi. Hope we all never go until that extent in delivering baby.

Sunway Medical Centre
Total: RM6K++
- Labour to Delivery: within 5 hours+ (lucky this one short, they can’t by hourly rate. Forgot how much)
- Mode of delivery: normal
- Pain killer: Gas and Local Aesthetic (wife insisted she don’t want epidural, saving RM 1,500)
- Stay: 3D2N (RM 275*/night > Single Room)
- food: so-so
- Chair: I bet most husbands will be tempted to stay back with the wife, yes the chair can be converted into a makeshift bed. Not comfortable but sufficient.
- Labour Room: first class. (not sound proof though, can hear next door lady screaming her lungs out)

O&G Specialist : Dr. Wong Yat May
Paediatrician : Dr. Chye Joon Kin fired. Dr Koe Swee Lan fired (can’t claim medical cause not in my panel doctor). Current Dr. Khoo Phaik Choo

Comments :
- Overall Sunway is very efficient. Registration, Administration, Pharmacy and Consultation, it’s all a breeze.
- Dr. Wong Yat May doesn’t spend more than 15 minutes with us during consultation and follow-ups. I nicknamed her, the woman with a few words. She only visited my wife twice during delivery. One to check on the labour progress and next was to receive. So if you want it straight up and no BS, try Dr. Wong.
- Dr. Chye Joon Kin, Sunway in house Paediatrician. Very judgmental and can be sarcastic at times. 1 visit and never went back.
- Dr Koe Swee La, based in OUG. Very motherly like. Major problem with the amount of patients, advice is to go EARLY. Mothers who do not breast feed, be prepared for a lecture session. She’s a lactation consultant.
- Dr. Khoo Phaik Choo, Sime Darby Medical. A lot of patience also, not as extreme as Dr Koe but advice is go EARLY because Sime Darby registration and administration can be a pain. Also very motherly like, but less naggy than Dr Koe.

Dear Members,

My wife is pregnant for 6-7weeks now.
Now, I'm in total blank on how should I get started on the check-up related issues.
At first my wife thought that she could be pregnant coz of late period and nausea. Pregnancy test kit shows positive. We went to "Klinik & Surgeri Gill, Sentul", did another urine test (positive too). then the lady indian doctor did the ultrasound for my wife, proving that my wife is indeed pregnant.
The doctor is very informative and very patiently answer to all our queries. she's a gynae but apparently she's retired. we are supposed to meet her again 2 weeks later for another check-up.
Now my questions are:
i) where shall we go for regular check-up? clinics? hospitals? how frequent for checkup?
ii) I'm staying at Sri Gombak, Batu Caves. any clinics or hospitals to recommend?
iii) what's the average costs per check-up?

you can go to private clinics for check-up. usually cost about RM80- RM100 per check-up inclusive of vitamins and ultrasound.
Gov hosp and klinik kesihatan of course far cheaper but i warn you, the queue is very very long.

Check-up once a month will do.

when your wife is 6months pregnant, go to the nearest gov hosp which you want to deliver to register and get the pink card. I delivered in HUKM, twice. charges is RM500 including 2days 1 night stay and first bb injection.

Hi, i am in my 5th week of pregnancy too. Just wondering if we go KK for check up at 6th month , will we get 'bomb' from the nurses? In fact it is super long queue n troublesome to go check up at kk. So just wondering when should i register ... 😑

You need to survey around KK near your area, then put the address(be it your friend or relative) for the KK that having lesser people.
Then choose the right time, usually I'll prefer the main KK as it is always have full work force compare to those smaller. We always take 2pm or 10am. So no matter how long the queue is, 2 hours of waiting time only thumbup.gif
