need help here.. Is it possible to download the apps. from ovi store using desktop & transfer to the phone?

-my wifi cannot be configure for n8, so, i attach the phone to desktop using USB cable (ovi suite)-

(online via LAN desktop)

i heard the browser of n8 wasn't rly good compared to apple's safari,but tht's fine,i can always install opera in it

the only thg im concern is the weak processor and lower ram compared to my 3gs....i've seen members posting bout probs regarding full ram usage error here,tht got me worrying

Ovi Store stills have less camera. btw, all of us are using first batch. keep your 3GS for now if u don't use camera alot

because even i connect wifi using my netbook, i need to setting the IP address & DNS manually.. So, i didn't know how to manually config. N8 IP & DNS..
the solution that i can choose is using my desktop (which connect using LAN).. & download the apps from the ovi store, and then transfer to my phone..

I might buy 16Gb iPad if no choice - wants all powerpoint slides and notes in 1 compact device. Im anti Apple wan (but not as terruble as you think), but difficult to transfer file la...    S.Galaxy Tab too expensive, RM 3k+ for the Wifi Ver.... The only remaining one i ca consider is RIM's Playbook.

Belkin.. I have restart it many time.. but it dont work.. (all devices that want to connect with my Home WiFi need to set manually..)

why brag about it? N8 use AMOLED and AMOLED like how many years of tech. SLCD, SCLCD, S-AMOLED is new tech. I just don't get why you brag about SCLCD is better than AMOLED although its known fact it is and its new! Or u just wanna show it?

For me, input is what's stopping N8 from becoming the King, and like everyone else was also wondering why on earth did Nokia not implement a better soft keyboard UI. I mean, it's practically the same as 5800 and that was what, 2 years ago?

Until I read about Storm's rather strange input method, surepress. The reason why Storm had to implement such a strange touch entry was linked to how the OS is navigated. To choose and option on Blackberry os, you must first navigate to the item, and then click select. Because of that, they had to invent a way to differentiate a navigate action, and select action.

Probably that's the reason why Symbian hasn't yet implemented a system wide soft keyboard UI. Basically, what they do now, is just run the soft keyboard program when the os detects that you want to do an input, but they had to run it full screen, and probably in a very priviledged mode (you don't want the program to stall from appearing when asked) because they can't layer the soft keyboard program on the active screen. The other way to do things is maybe do a screen capture and get the program to layer over the soft keyboard (wondering how swype implements its input). In fact, one iteration, I think it was the 5800 managed to do this. How come N8 can't, unless its something major in the OS that they have to modify if we want this?
