In case you do not know who Rhodan and sAint. They are players who are from Australia who played and got third and first place in Aussie Mini Tourney before. GLaDe on the other hand should be pretty much known in the SC2 community already. He was named MoonGlade who played before in the HDH #1 tournament.

GLaDe is currently doing the interview so we will post the Rhodan (Protoss) and sAint (Terran) interviews first.

Aussie Mini Tourney and this Interview is brought to you by Real Time Gamer.

Interview with Rhodan

Q: Protoss have been neglected for quite a bit, in terms of there are very few patches to the Protoss units. Do you think Protoss is a benchmark for Terran and Zerg to balance upon?
QUOTE
I think coming out of the beta, Protoss was probably the most balanced and well polished of the three races, with Terran being far too strong and having way too many good options and Zerg being far too weak with too few good options and unit compositions. Thats not to say protoss as a race was not without its issues but of the three, I’d definitely say either it or Terran would be the benchmark to balance the other two races on.

Q: There are a few changes to Voidray in terms of damage and speed. Taking account of all the updates, it seems that Voidray has been nerfed. Do you think you can enlighten us a bit on that?
QUOTE
I haven’t really used void rays outside of the late game since the range nerf back in beta, and even then I had barely used them. I think void rays have a weird position in the game where they’re basically a cheese in of themselves just by getting one before the late game as they are nearly unbeatable if not scouted, but incredibly easy to stop if scouted, and sets the protoss player far far behind if they are stopped. Personally, the change doesn’t affect me but the nerfs do seem weird as I didn’t think they were particularly too powerful as it was, though like I said, I rarely used them pre-patch anyway so I may not be the best judge.
Q: Do you still think early reaper harass is still as threatening as pre patch 1.1.2? Barrack requires Supply depot now and Nitro Packs requires Factory tech.
QUOTE
I didn’t really find early reaper harass that threatening anyway and it was more an issue with the ZvT matchup, for PvT once you get a stalker out theres no way it can be effective vs protoss, and it is easy to get a stalker out with minimal damage if you see it coming – and it is easy to see coming with enough time to prepare. That being said, I really like the supply depot being required change, as proxy barracks-bunker marauder play is pretty ridiculous, even with a 9 scout, especially with the nerf to zealot build time in the previous patch.

Q: From now on High Templers will not be able to Feedback Thor and Corrupters anymore. It is impossible to 1 shot Corrupters now when they have full mana. But you can now Feedback Point Defence Drones, which is a pretty good idea. Do you think that will help fending off air attacks on your Collosi and any Raven Point Defence Drone play?
QUOTE
I think it was kinda weird having “mana” on Thors and Corruptors anyway and it should help those units a little bit in the matchup, especially Thors which I rarely encounter as a protoss. However, Thors are still pretty hard countered my Immortals and it seems like most protoss (myself included) protect their collosus with blink stalkers rather than templar, so I don’t think it particularly helps in either of those situations, and won’t really change the matchup too much.

As for Point Defense Drones, it was just a bug that you couldn’t feedback them, as you used to be able in beta and I believe in release until the first patch (though the bug may have been introduced in release … I am not 100% sure on this one) and should help a little bit, although the biggest issue with the PDD at the moment is early in the game before you get Templar as part of a Marine/Banshee/1 Raven timing push that is nearly impossible to hold off if executed with perfect timing.

Q: To be honest, I really did not expect the Supply Depot requirement for Barrack (there was a lot of discussion on that in the forums). How do you think that would affect early pressure from Terran?
QUOTE
It will completely disable any type of early pressure/cheese that Terran has had in the past for instance BBS (Barracks, Barracks, Supply Depot) or 6/7/8/9/10 Barracks Reaper/Marauder or even Marine. I believe Zergs will be allowed to fast expand freely now on 14.

Q:Talking about early pressure, Nitro Packs requires Factory tech now. Do you think Reapers are still a viable harassment tool in mid-game?
QUOTE
I think now that speed is only available after factory reapers will more just be used for scouting rather than harassment in mid-game, but it could be viable considering people will not be expecting it now with the nerf.

Q: Sniping core buildings is much tougher now with the HP buff on Nexus and many Zerg buildings. How much time difference (compared to pre patch 1.1.2) is needed to break the structures? Can you feel the difference?
QUOTE
It feels like forever to snipe Zerg buildings now … But I guess it was needed since Marauders took down buildings so goddam fast previously!

Q: All in all do you feel a tad more challenge playing Terran now? [NOTE: I am not asking this because I feel Terran is OP, just asking out of curiosity as I'm a lousy Terran player.]
QUOTE
I wouldn’t say more of a challenge as much as more of slight change to get used to!

nice...
wutever rhodan said is really true for toss...
the MBR build is just so hard to stop (polt timing atk)...
likewise about proxy marauders back then...
sure u can stop it but u need to pull some probes which puts u behind while terran eventhough he rushed, he can jz mule his way thanks to earlier rax (thus earlier OC)...
