Just wonder how do you guys maintain the heat level of your AVR especially mounted on a normal TV bench with little ventilation clearance. Today, under a hot day without turning on air-con, after watching a movie, I can feel my AVR is quite hot on the top , my AVR is on one of the rack with open front but the sides and rear are closed. Do you guys install a PC case fan on top to suck the hot air out? Or do you guys mount it on some open rack?

my yamaha avr is hot even though i just put it on top of my tv bench. i think i'll just get a USB fan to cool it. or just put a coolermaster notepal U3 on it. (it's about RM89) antec veris av cooler is overpriced if i were to bring it in. if the avr is in a closed cabinet like yours, i think need to use a squirrel cage or system blower to suck air from the top of the avr then blow it out from the front opening of the cabinet space. i have a hard time finding a slim one even in jalan pasar.

another thing... it looks like it's USB powered (and the cable is usually kinda short).. does your AVR has a USB port to power this thing?

Can always get something like this: But, seriously, USB fan ventilation air power very less I recommend Hardisk fan...got many type For power, can buy an adapter like this: But I prefer those that can adjust the voltage so that the noise Vs airflow can be balanced, but of course, need to modify a bit the connector...that one is easy..but please do some homework on the polarity or the wires and the recommended voltage This post has been edited by azbro: Oct 18 2010, 01:14 PM

QUOTE(echoesian @ Oct 18 2010, 04:21 PM) Mana boleh beli? How much is this thingy? Computer shop many many have...so many design to choose from to match your AVR But adapter need to buy those can control the DC voltage (max16V) so that can adjust the fan speed...but please take note the polarity and voltage....if this is your first time, but a cheap fan to do the mod....why I say 16V when it should be 12V is because if you use a multimeter to check, most adapters are over rated....but if you dun have a multimeter and want to be safe, you can always get a 12V adapter.
