My insider told me that they are working on it for throttling on UniFi

light user here on VIP5, took me a full month to reach 80GB but If they implement Throttling + monthly cap, thats gonna suck to the max. I really hate throttling.

Since unifi has bandwidth monthly cap... why they still want to implement throttling?

If you exceed your cap, they throttle you.

For now, the cap is still not implemented. Rumors say it will begin Jan next year, but then again, if many people complain, it might be deferred again.

Especially since next year is expected to be an election year.

they throttle the line speed when we exceeded the monthly bandwidth cap when the monthly bandwidth cap starts is fine...
what i mean here is are they gonna to throttle p2p, bt or pps when we are still within our monthly bandwidth usage??
if that's the case... then what's the use of HSBB? just for web browsing??

Simple. There is no throttling. billy was only saying if they implement both, he would hate it.

This capping limit is not practice by TM.nut but also Digi, Celcom, P1 and Maxis u will be throttled to slower speed as low as 128kbps if u already exceed their limit

This is my bandwidth usage since i got Unifi.

user posted image

I don't feel as if i'm throttled at all. If you see the bottom right monitor, the reason why download is only 1.6 mbps is because the torrent i am downloading is not well seeded.

When  switch to better seeded torrent i can get 1-1.2 MB/s which is the maximum speed i paid for doh.gif

Hehehe for this moment yerlah bro later on they turn the switch cap on then u will be cursing like others tongue.gif

Simple. There is no throttle or cap currently enforced.

Things might change in the future, though.

You're kidding man, even my 1mbps Streamyx can download 13GB/day.

If let say Unifi want to begin the FUP, I guess the max they throttled is down to 50% the most and not fair if they make it 70%. Anything below 1mbps will be a disaster for nowadays application.

I don't mind they cap it, but, first of all, they need to reduce the monthly charge to RM1/GB, VIP 5 should be charged as RM60, VIP10 should be charge as RM90 and so on. If you want download more when you reach the quota, then TM should provide online self service to buy additional data quota. the more you download, the more you pay. this is what I call REAL Fair Usage Policy.

Set aside 10MB bandwidth and become seed only...
