since najib announce no sales tax for Mobile Phone

-will the price drop?
-will gap between Ori and AP will go smaller?
-How long it will take to effect market price?

Since my phone is start showing me issue better aim new phone now hope it effect iphone price also lol

you know the price differrent of original set and ap set? original set much expensive because of tax.

so expect the original set will became like ap set price after this.

well estimated sales tax is about 10%

Example N8 is 1690 current price -10% = RM 1521

Can someone input on import tax for phones? Is it the same one gomen is exempting on all mobile phones? Import tax = sales tax?

Apparently all this while, smartphone no sales tax. But stories r ppl being buying smartphone from ebay, import them in and kena tax (10%) & AP rm200.

Whatever it is, we consumer, either been screw by gomen or seller or both.

Sales tax and import tax are 2 different thing.

Like computer part if you buy from outside malaysia you will not charge import tax but may be will charge you sales tax depend on luck.

Ya still curious on sales tax cause understand mostly phone price is included sales tax and hope really have price drop.

How to different between smart phone and normal phone le. Since mostly phone now is 3g ready. And some do come with wifi even though it is simple phone.
