I have used N80 b4, and still have N82 now (using as alarm clock and spare camera only haha)...... but never update firmware b4. Is it easy to update the firmware myself for N8? (when new firmware is available of course).
Thanks.

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 17 2010, 12:18 PM) It has FOTA means firmware over the air. You can go Setting>Phone>Phone Management>Device Updates, click Options and check for updates. If updates is available, update it. And update via PC is easy too. Thanks. Just saw the 5800 thread, there's a firmware update guide there, but can't find on this thread. I think will replace my iPhone 3GS with N8 for now, and wait for MeeGo next year

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Oct 17 2010, 12:26 PM) If new OS is the 1 you want to try,you can always buy N900 & wait till October 22 to install MeeGo in it. Yea, I know about the Maemo/MeeGo dualboot promised for N900. But I don't like the physical keyboard and the resistive screen.

Hi, I just added two email accounts, one Gmail and another one POP3. Can't seem to find where to set the retrieval to MANUAL. Would like set it so the phone WILL NOT retrieve email on it's own.. and only check for email when I go into the Mail app. How to do it? Can only find "Synchronisation days" .. so I untick all the days

Just tried Ovi Maps.. it loaded quite fast and showed my location on the map. So I assume the map is already pre-loaded on N8? No need to download map to use offline?

Anyone tried Swype on N8? Does it work in portrait mode too?

QUOTE(Leo the Lion @ Oct 19 2010, 12:59 PM) try put iOS 4 or android in 680mhz arm11+256mb ram, can it run? My iPhone 3GS (600Mhz, 256MB Ram) running iOS4.1.. very smooth and fast But the N8 is ok lah, not as smooth as 3GS but still the fastest Symbian I have used.

QUOTE(nicholasbeh @ Oct 19 2010, 01:09 PM) huh??!! 3GS SAME PROCESSOR WITH N8 again????lol. Not exactly, N8 is ARM 11 680 MHz processor, 3GS is ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz ... 3GS is "slower" processor but smoother and faster. Dunno what makes the difference, GPU? OS optimizations? No idea
