For the convenience of our fellow readers, I've copied and paste the review from move-auto.com.my.
It was a translated version from Chinese text so some of the sentences might sound peculiar.

Prior to listing with the Proton Inspira publicity, Proton once again invite the media test Inspira, the test section is also not far, in Janda Baik and the road along the Karak only, it is worth mentioning that not only the local assembly of Inspira Mitsubishi Lancer so simple!

Proton Inspira with cars will come from Mitsubishi Motors (MMC) 1.8-liter and 2.0 liter inline four-cylinder MIVEC engine, two engine coupled with INVEC-III CVT stepless transmission, 1.8 liter engine with five-speed manual for selection . Proton claims, Inspira listed, the usual Base-line, Medium line and the High-line will be by the Standard, Executive and Premium replaced, and this approach will be extended all the cars used on the Proton.

Proton Inspira 1.8 start talking. Manual, since the row are provided with dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, anti-theft system and engine identification reversing sensors. Built-in, the door panels and center console are coupled with imitation carbon fiber trim, with Bluetooth support for using the brand Clarion 2 Din audio console, below the manual air-conditioning system. The left part of the steering wheel with audio controls boards, panels travel information center for the monochrome display. Proton Insipra 1.8 from the layout of the steering wheel shift paddles are not, so the car is equipped with comprehensive information on this site is probably speculate Inspira 1.8 Executive / Medium line version.

Proton Inspira 2.0 coupled with 1.8 in addition to all the equipment, but also add a lot of luxury and sports equipment, such as with shift paddles behind the steering wheel, cruise control, automatic constant temperature system, automatic headlights and wipers, and an additional aero leather coated interior. And 1.8 models use the same style of the audio console, the original 2.0 model adds a portable GPS satellite positioning system. As mentioned above, this Inspira will be the Premium / High-Line Edition.

All cars belong to the same standard size rims 205/60 R16, with Continental CC5 tires. R & D engineers, according to Proton Inspira said, Proton to develop this specifically with Continental tires, added silica composition, the tires keep dry in the wet grip when driving, part of the next test, I was more sharing.

This section of our test is not far around the Karak Village Boulevard and Janda Baik. Inspira all three for testing, but testing each of which can only be a media only, I have been drawn in the 2.0 CVT version, but in the end I give up the election of more challenging Inspira 1.8 manual. Get a good seat sitting and looking after adjusting mirror, we set out. First, flat texture appears to stand head and does not depend on the actual grip, stalls are also very clear, the only problem is the clutch of the trip is very long and the location of binding sites is very high, it is easy in the fast-shifting occurs when the engine idling situation.

Smooth engine power output can only be described as the engine speed lower than 2500 points in turn, the acceleration will be slower, then the situation is much better, the engine turn off the oil in about 6300 points. Short before the third gear teeth, and have a toll station, I started trying to turn pushed up, perhaps the limitations of body weight, and expected no tire spin, about 120kmh on into fourth gear.

In the highway test, most of the road are high-speed bends and a straight line acceleration, the test of time traffic more often will encounter speed up to 170kmh is about to overtake the front of the car stop, so there is no straight-line acceleration landed the part, Testing is the only high-speed cornering. Walk in the Karak road, our average speed in 140kmh, driving for about five minutes, traffic was finally reduced, in front of just a comic detours, directly to a floor the throttle and accelerate to 160kmh was cut into the roundabout, car accidents are Inspira not within the drastic tilt phenomenon, and no tires Continental CC5 protests should still firmly attached to the road, holding the steering wheel of the author nor do I feel inadequate tire grip, the only inadequacies can feel at high speed is Inspira slight understeer, just slightly closing the throttle will be able to resolve this issue.

Next we went to Janda Baik village, where a considerable challenge to road conditions, coupled with the narrow bumpy road. The most challenging thing is there are many blind spots in the chicane, at the head have to pay attention when turning the car coming, I even lost the lead briefly with the car. In this section of track testing, the author of a top speed of only 80kmh only, and gear third gear in the second walk. Of course, only in the more challenging road, can really test the car performance and handling, walking in the already poorly maintained roads, Inspira's performance in dealing with uneven road competence, the speed of about 60kmh travel, there is also a very serious car shaking, which point even more than the Lancer GT / GLS / EX perform better

Again is the sharp bends. Just scored a chain when bending highway, Inspira will be a slight understeer, but also because fast enough here, as long as the use of slow out of the Raiders into the fast cornering, Inspira there is a very good performance out of the corners at high speed when not left out the rear tire is still quiet with rear out of the corners.

In fact the whole, Proton Inspira not think so weak, in Proton's tune, some even beyond the performance of the original Mitsubishi Lancer. There are very few local car market 1.8-liter engine, manual transmission models, this is another advantage of Inspira. The Mitsubishi Lancer GS-based Inspira no Japanese cars tend to comfort tuning settings, but followed the Proton usual bias European system control tuning, Proton is just a combination of two tuning advantages, to create a comfortable and controlled with good performance Inspira .

Proton before the conference also revealed the Proton Inspira price: Inspira 1.8E manual tentative price of RM79, 888, and since the row is RM87, 000, The Inspira 2.0P prices may fall RM94, 000 Of course, the real price is only listed in the November 10 promotion ceremony will only be released the same day.

Proton Managing Director Datuk Syed Zainal Abidin also said at the reception, it is undeniable Proton Inspira same with a Mitsubishi Lancer car, but Proton and Lotus in the adjustments, not just put the car factory logo (Rebadge) then simple. Proton Proton Inspira is the co-operation with MMC after 25 years, another milestone, and a model GM brand is now in a different business strategy trends in the automotive industry, in addition to reducing development costs, but also in the overall sales have been more beneficial to both sides interests.

He also said that the rumor about the first 300 will be imported from Japan Inspira (CBU) vehicles, it was all just rumor, every one Inspira is assembled by a Proton assembly plant, the local parts used at this stage only 30% The next year will increase to 60%, Proton is also in consultation with the MMC on the local assembly of Mitsubishi Lancer plans exports to foreign countries, once the negotiation is successful, not only benefits both sides, but also to stimulate local economic development.

PLus he'll be getting a 2010 manufactured car which will be considered 2 years old in January 2011. Waste!
*
2yrs or 1 year?

Anyway the loss on the Year of Reg is compensated with the Free Services and on
the other hand if you are trading in your car, it doesn't make any difference cause the car you are trading in will loose more value come next year.
But for new buyers it will be more pratical to get it early next year.

Was surfing to find out if there is any major issues with Lancer and notice there are two common issues:

CVT - overheating

ABS - Failure

Wondering if Proton have rectified these issues?

Was thinking to book today but arrghh will hold on for time being.........

regarding the CVT, they added the cooler and diverted more air to it..but i dont think it is an issue(for me at least), unless for those who want to go up to 200kmh..which i'll never do.

ABS on the other hand, i have no idea about it..any info on that?
*
It is something to do with the ABS sensor which is attached to all Four spring/Tyres.
The ABS light will be "on" once your sensor got dirty or soiled or sometimes with a very2 hard braking.
For some of the Lancer owners it seems a nice car/rim wash solve the issue but for the others a replacement need to be done and to
get a replacement sometimes it takes a few weeks.
For some Lancer owners they have replace the sensor 3 times and apparently it happens every 20K mileage.

P/S ABS sensor cost around RM800.00 rclxub.gif

The Brochure says the kerb weight is 1,300++kg but check out the metal label which is visible when you open the the Driver's door
where you can see the chassis no, it is stated 1,700+kg.
Asked the SA but as usual tak tau.

My guess is, it is the maximum weight that allowed for the car (eg.Passengers , goods)
