My cousin told me the same thing, and he deals with second hand cars, so I'll assume it's true, since these guys usually try to book in advance to sell to others who are desperate for cars happy.gif

Doesn't matter at all. The fact is their car prices are more than double ours. Americans, Brittish, earn way more than us on average, but ther car prices are lower than ours.

QUOTE(Echo^fish @ Nov 5 2010, 08:26 PM)
guys im sory if i ask this Q , but ive search around still can't find the answer

basically i want to recommend the forte to my mum, since the inspira going to lounch in a few days i tought mayb i can be patient a bit.

the Q is.. what is the main difference between the forte n inspira?

this is what i read from some of the forums (correct me if im wrong)

forte 2.0 features

1) got on/off 'start button'
2)17" rims???
3) engine??
4) FC?? full tank can go how far if +- hiway/town
inspira 2.0

1) tripitonic (dis is really good deals)
2) dont know about the sizes of the rims
3) MIVEC (good factor)
4) not available yet

can u all list more about the features both for this 2 cars, thanx in advance
p/s: i dont know it is right or wrong, but my heart is on the inspira side smile.gif
*
I'd recommend a sylphy any day. My mom drives one, it's really really brilliant... and you can get one for 10k more from the price of a forte/inspira?

QUOTE(mosar @ Nov 6 2010, 12:05 AM)
wait a minute...this pics in autoworld ;

http://autoworld.com.my/emzine/vimage/show...ch.&T=undefined

it uses 18" rim..same as lancer GT...why would proton test 18" if they not putting it on the inspira..could it be 2.0 will have 18 inchers?
*
Good question. They are testing on 18 inch rims indeed. But the suspension setup was suposedly developed for the 1.8 manual, so even if the 2.0 gets the 18 inch rims, it still doesn't make sense. Maybe that's just for show.

I do not think additional airbags can be a overnight/last minute decission, so I doubt anything is going to change from here:

But it'll really nice for the 2.0 fellas if there is.

in one of the article, i read that it's all passengers will have airbag. but so far, my SA told me only 2 airbags.

Malaysian reporters.... heh. I read that article too, but I'd trust an official press release from proton.

That's based on what whann said.

Yeah I booked on the 15th. It doesn't make sense though. If Berita Harian is right, proton has the capacity to produce 80 cars a day, it wouldn't take 2 whole months to do 1500 cars. Anyway, only thing we can do is wait... except for the lucky 11 gettin on launch day haha ( =

Hopefully got optional package bodykits + spoiler for all inspira variants.....

Especially for 1.8 manual....That will be nice.  :-)

Toyota also got TRD sport kits for vios.,

Why not with Proton...

That may increase time taken for delivery... haha.

Getting trim options would definitely be nice. I just need a car ASAP haha. But yeah, having options for bodykit, interior trim level, and rims would be really cool. I doubt proton's system is capable of handling this though. It would mean they either have to produce a wide number of permutations of the inspira, or have some kind of computerized customizing system which would forward the requests to the factory to apply during assembly. Maybe a mix of both haha, as some add-ons can be assembled service centers.

The Lancer GT uses magnesium shifters, probably because magnesium is light yet strong, and feels very nice to the touch. As far as I know (and from pictures) Inspira's shifters will be plastic, like Honda City's.

A friend of mine who went for the private Proton Test Drive session last week said Inspira uses the same magnesium shifters.  rclxms.gif
