QUOTE(muslayer @ Oct 17 2010, 08:24 AM) tell that to perodua and naza. no need to create a new account and start bashing here. what? proton get billions R&D fund from public coffer, aka the money everyone contributed. Perodua and Naza did not (directly) get any R&D fund from gomen, at most they get some advantage as a (Indirect) GLC only.

QUOTE(blueapple @ Oct 17 2010, 11:37 AM) Ehh hold on, rm95k for a inspira 2.0 is not paying peanuts. If work oversea and earn oversea, this lancer can be as cheap as below 20k usd. So don't say we are paying peanuts. We all paying hell a lot more compare to the rest of the world. no, in USA as low at USD 14,999 , monthly pay 200 http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/allModels.do

QUOTE(Taipan052 @ Oct 17 2010, 09:49 AM) no. what i mean is, (i think i misread it out of context) as own a T or H can consider luxury ride already.. that's what i laugh. T & H never considered as luxury ride except their high end car. not the normal B sedan model. kekekekke actually golf and polo are normal b segment cars but to malaysian... they are like luxury sports cars... wtf this country...

QUOTE(tehoice @ Oct 17 2010, 12:23 PM) due to the mentality of our nation, and ofcuz PRICING plays the most important role here! HELP US all malaysian Bro what u mean by 'due to our nation mentality'?? If u got the mentality, but no $$$, discuss, go showroom or u survey tht car also no point because u dont have the $$$ to buy!!...So its simple economics everyone wants the best at the most affordable price..Only the G can change all this heavy taxes...Oherwise we will continue buying sub-standard cars at inflated prices..

Then you'll know that although car is cheap, maintenance, insurance and income tax is higher than ours. RnD money is in form of grant that any company can applied as long as you got the facilities. Speaking of Naza, how many AP do they get every year....

the difference between inspira n lancer is just the front bumper, steering, head unit and handling only...
inspira is using lotus handling technology....so the spring they use is different from lancer...
Added on October 17, 2010, 1:53 pmfrom some rumours i heard is that they dont copy lancer...its actually a business deal...proton gave mitsubishi exora and mitsubishi gave proton lancer...(i think mitsu had some 'commission' on proton inspira sales as well) <-- not sure how real is it....
its a business deal..give me something and i'll give u back something....
they are gonna rebadge exora to mitsubishi and throw away the campro engine...

anyone got estimation of the fuel consumtion look like? and the maintenance after the free maintenance is over? best source would be anyone using lancer more than 3 years. the cvt tranny oil change for RM800 per change is quite worrying

Its too early to judge. We will get some feedback when Proton starts to use up to 65% localized parts in the future batches and hopefully Mitsu have their QC people to help Proton select the best quality parts for the car as this car will also reflect Mitsu reputation. But I do believe the new CEO has done a good job thus far. Hopefully he can bring the company back into profit and bigger market share with improved quality and after sales service.
