Anyone know the AMD 900 series mobo will get UEFI support or not?
just got dual 2TB of WD black but cannot set as boot drive if formatted with GPT(GUID Partition Table, the only way to 100% utilize HDD more than 2.2TB).

old BIOS only support MBR disk but will stuck at 2.2TB + problematic sweat.gif

UEFI depends on mobo manufacturer not AMD smile.gif

9 series is expected to be released/showcased in CeBit (1-3 March) nod.gif

Hmmm not sure if an athlon II vs phenom II on same clock will produce same result on that benchie hmm.gif
Would a L3 cacheless cpu's be a bit slower? :/hmm:

not so sure bro, never have d chance to test athlon & deneb & d same time, but i reckon deneb should fares better in most appications, includin this. hmm.gif

btw, i've pm'ed d moderating team of oc united & few of u guys regardin d compy. can u check whether d mini proposal is attached bro? thanks... smile.gif

I never said UEFI is dependent on CPU on my previous post, is depend on chipset thats why im asking the mobo, not CPU sweat.gif
800 series chipset may support hdd over 2.2TB because the sata driver support 64bit LBA, the only things missing is the UEFI AMD mobo doh.gif

guys, one final decision to be made before d compy starts officially... d moderating team has given d green light but there's a suggestion that we mite wanna put a speed cap in order for fairer competition among all. hmm.gif

it does make sense as thuban will definitely dominate cinebench & wprime 1024m due to higher overclockability (even we are limitin thuban users to down core their chip to x4). so we would need d helps from all (especially deneb & propus) to suggest a clock for d so call speed cap. from my experience, few of d best batches of deneb can take 3.8~4.0GHz bench stable. should i suggest d speed cap to be at 3.8~3.9GHz? what say u guys? pls revert asap so that we can have d compy to kick start asap too... many thanks in advance... notworthy.gif

p/s: i'm not so sure bout cinebench, but wprime doesn't really greatly affect by os tweakin (from my noob experience lah). so it's all down to how one tweak d max outta cpu clock, nb freq + ram. biggrin.gif

4GHz multithreaded benchmarks mite be too much for deneb, that's why i'm suggestin slightly lower than that. what say d thuban users? unsure.gif
