For a long time, AMD stuck by the vague release schedule of "2011" for Bulldozer. In late 2010, AMD surprised many by announcing Bulldozer would be release in Q2 2011. While some have raised doubts about the Q2 2011 schedule, Donanimhaber reports that according to an AMD document, the first Bulldozer CPU, codenamed Zambezi, is well on schedule to hit markets in the first half of 2011.

Production should ramp up by March/April 2011, with widespread release some time in Q2 2011. The core logic supporting the Zambezi CPUs, AMD's 9-series chipset, will be released in socket AM3+ as early as CeBIT 2011, in the first week of March. Socket AM3+ will also support existing Phenom II CPUs.

If the recent performance rumours hold true, the 8-core Zambezi CPU will be a massive 50% faster than AMD's current flagship Phenom II X6 1100T and Intel's Core i7 950 with as much as double the performance in heavily multi-threaded applications such as Rendering. This also means AMD have a fighting chance of regaining the performance crown from Intel's upcoming Core i7 990X. Of course, Intel's true competitor to Bulldozer only arrives in Q4 2011 in the form of LGA2011 based Sandy Bridge-EN.

You would expect a premium price if the article hold true for the 50%.

Speculation versus real figure which one you prefer? cool2.gif

i just afraid that 50% is for specific task only.. not for the whole performance..

LOL i have no plans for a torrenting rig or anything, only have a small dream of owning maybe a cheap 13" notebook to use when traveling..
Looking at the fusion initiative it looked promising, want something that is more powderful than an intel builtin graphic but with godly battery life like atom laugh.gif
Just a dream tho, not sure i'll ever achieve it sweat.gif laugh.gif

may i know what's the normal HT link speed without any oc? Can consider as my first time using AM3 processor myself, before this never really had a look into this kinda stuff.

using athlon II x3 425, on Asus M4N68T-M V2. My current HT Link now is 1000MHz.
