Hi all. I'm need help overclocking my PC.. I'm totally noob in overclock , the processor can only hit 3.6Ghz++ with stock voltage but not stable. Overclock done with auto clock AMD Overdrive
My pc spec :

CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 945 C3 95W + DeepCool IceWing 3 cpu cooler
M/B : Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H
Ram : 2x2Gb Corsair DDR2 1066Mhz @ 2.1V
PSU : Xigmatek NRP 500W
GC : Sapphire HD4850 512Mb
HDD : Seagate 500Gb (OS W7 64), Seagate 750Gb & WD 1.5Tb

Any idea to achieve 3.8Ghz?

and..auto overclock is not fine, means that not good at all.. if u willing to learn, proceed to 1st page and read, try and ask..

since it's a locked chip, u can only play w/ htt coupled with lower cpu multi oc for maximizin cpu clock, ram & cpu-nb (a.k.a imc) freq.

u need to find out individual max value for:

1. cpu clock
2. ram freq (& timing)
3. imc freq

for a locked chip i'd suggest u discover d limit for ram & imc freq 1st. why u may ask? imo it's useless to run high cpu clock w/ low/stock ram/imc freq, what u'll get is bottlenecked cpu clock (by imc freq especially) & high temp (coz u gotta pump handsome amount of volt to make it run high). i'd settle for moderate cpu clock + max ram + nb freq.

how to do so? there're 3 unknowns there, eliminate 2 unknowns outta 3 each time then u'll find ya answer. it's not gonna be easy (especially ram) but that's what make it fun...

try it out yaself & ask around if u need some helps (w/o bein spoon feedin), am sure otai2 here are willin to help...

2. I'm using corsair ddr2 1066 @ 2.1V. I can't oc using this speed...BSOD instantly! I lowered the multiplier to 4.xx to 800Mhz and bump memory voltage to 2.0V. The memory frequency increase with cpu HT ref clock as it increasing.
3. What imc stand for? i increase NB VID to 1.25V.

It stable for a while, when i gaming, surfing and then the screen black out and pc restart

Temp at idle is 35-37'C. Max temp is 55-57'C

1st of all..

cpu clock = HTT x CPU multiplier
ram clock = HTT x Dram Divider.
imc clock (NB freq) = HTT x NB multiplier.

from the screenshot.
u oc the HTT, all other things oced together..

so, if u encounter failures, u donno which these above 3 is the culprit..so as ah khoo said, u have to isolate..

and again..1st post have guidance..and also on previous post, bro Fuzore posted 1 link.. go there and digest 1st

max nb not tested yes cuz i only finding the lowest vcore for 4ghz.. u can see i only oc multi there.. no time to finer oc yet.keekke
btw..batch is 1020fpmw i guess.
asked about the batch before buying..and saw on xs, the batch have few users..some is quite lemon and some is very good..so i take the risk (the fact is i want dont have money to spend on new)

i just notice this morning..i woke early to do prime again..and according to DMM, the voltage is 1.375 when load.. and cpuz stated 1.38v - 1.39v
kekke..so just nice chip.. not a very nice chip la..kekeke
