Guys, can i get some recommendations on a 40-inch LCD TV? I need it for Astro, movies and preferably comes with an "integrated media player" where it can read downloaded movies saved in a portable hard disk. No gaming/connecting to PC involved.
One of the shops recommended Sharp as it's the 1st that comes with 4 true colours whereas others only have 3. I don't know much about this or perhaps the shop gets more incentives from Sharp?
Another one said that Sony is good. Price is around RM28xx (i think it's KLV-40BX400) and come with 1 free DVD player. Not much complaint from customers.
I asked about Samsung then he said if you buy a Korean car you will need a lot of service and repairs. Same goes to other Korean brands.
Now i'm unsure and i have not asked about Panasonic and LG though. In terms of pricing, i hope it would be <RM2500.
Please help. Thanks.

Sharp new technology makes pictures too yellowish. Sakit mata. Furthermore there is reflection on the screen.
The Sony one, has a more balanced contrast and pictures. However, it couldn't read movies stored in HDD. Heck, it cant even run a portable HDD itself. It wont support mkv or those regular formats you've downloaded from the internet.
Panasonic and LG... average.

I didn't think that a Plasma would be deemed suitable as a Computer screen seeing that there's quite a bit of static 'things' on it like the icons, start menus, etc...

Thanks everyone will definitely check Samsung LA40C550 out. Somehow the older generations have this "Sony is the best" mindset.
