Does CIMB Petronas card have points collection  like treatpoints for MBB? I don't see my points summary in my statement.

How about Public bank gold card? Do they give points for purchases as well?
*
I only know CIMB petronas card gives cash rebate, not points. 2% on petronas fuel, 0.5% on other retail purchases.

Public Bank Gold card gives you points, no cash rebate.
Actually, Public Bank Gold credit cards all give cash rebate. Public Bank has very few credit cards that give points.

Thank you for correcting.
I am not updated enoigh. lol.
I realized that there are some ppl who don't really know what kind of card they have applied. They are more concerned with the free gift.

No such thing exist. Agent told you 2 days just to make you feel good.
OCBC TI application cycle takes between 1-3 weeks. (Some very lucky folks got it within 1 week)

I don't understand why every now and then folks come in here and ask their cc application to be processed as if theirs is the only one in the entire Malaysia.

2 days' time is considered slow lor...Last time I left my name in its website, within 1 hour I received their call already.

I am also quite satisfactory with OCBC's efficiency in handling customer feedback/complaint. They manage to respond to customers within 24 hours. I have experienced thrice.

I have no idea how fluent their English language is. I always get calls from Mandarin speaking officers, and I must say they speak really good Mandarin.

Maybe in their database there is a description stating my preferred language? I don't know.

Maybe I'm so lucky to have Customer Exec who can speak good Mandarin to me. Btw, some of Citibank officers speak broken English too.
This revealed the particular bank's standard in hiring employees and the sincerity to serve customers better. CIMB does not even have Mandarin speaking officers. Not sure MBB/RHB/Ambank got or not?

Guys, i just received my Citibank Cash Back VISA Platinum credit card today via Poslaju. I actually applied for CIMB Bank World MasterCard and OCBC Titanium MasterCard before this. Many of you already know about the CIMB Bank story so i'll just skip that part. OCBC rejected my application. No reason was given and they did not ask me to provide my income documents either. The OCBC Bank customer service officer i spoke to just told me my application is unsuccessful but i can try to reapply again 6 months later (which i definitely will).

Anyway, i was really fed up already but last week, i decided to try my luck again. This time with Citibank. OCBC Titanium MasterCard has always been my top pick but what to do, i was rejected so i had to move on and look for the next best card. I applied this card through an agent since there is no Citibank branch here in Kota Kinabalu. The application was submitted last Tuesday and i received the card just about an hour ago. Definitely very efficient of Citibank rclxms.gif

So, there are a few questions that i want to ask you guys.
1. Do i have to request for the credit card PIN number or they will automatically send one to me ?
2. In order for me to get the free RM60 cash, i will need to register for auto-debit under one bill. Currently i already have my TM Streamyx bill signed up for auto-debit through my HSBC MasterCard. Can i just call HSBC to cancel the auto-debit ? How long does it take ?
3. It says that i will get 2% rebate at all Watson and Guardian outlets. Is this restricted to over the counter prescription only or all items bought there such as shampoo, hair mousse etc. are entitled for the 2% rebate as well ?

Thanks in advance.

1. try to appeal (by calling the cus care) by sending all your supporting documents thru email cap@ocbc.com. I did that and got mine approved in 1 day-worth trying instead of waiting for another 6 months;

2. Did u rec the free smart tag? I received a sms saying its free to the sucessful applications for the Citibank Cash Back VISA Platinum credit card, although such information is not posted on net yet.

congrats btw.

What a surprise when I received the papar statement from MBB on my WMC, even though I have enrolled in their paperless statement. Hopefully their won't changed me for this paper statement.

BTW, from the paper statement, I notice that is statement stated that there is a 2.5% charges on overseas usage on foreign currency. sad.gif

1. Pin number will reach you within 1 week after card approval.
2. Yes, cancellation of Auto debit is just a call away. It shall take effect immediately. This was however my previous experience. Not sure if any changes made by hsbc. I'm not holding hsbc card anymore.
3. Maybe you can find some clues in the T&C or FAQ.

Cheers.

Oh really ? I did not know that. Didn't receive any sms from Citibank either. I didn't even know my application has been approved until just now.

I'll try to answer Q2&3

2. It depends on how did HSBC executed the auto-debit. Some banks use a 3rd party (e.g Some banks uses MBF AutoPay to execute TM group bills) and to cancel this, you actually need to advise the bank (or sometimes MBF to terminate the autopay facility). Sometimes also, it is done directly @ the merchant level (e.g. Maxis) and you need to terminate the autodebit directly with them. I knew this since sometime back after experiencing it and I find it is easier not to use the autodebit because of the complexity to cancel them. (But it is easy to sign up)

I'll advise to call HSBC and see whether you are able to cancel the facility and take things from there. Cancellation can take between 4-6 weeks and in extreme cases longer. You may find needing to pay for 1-2 more cycles before the autodebit is cancelled.

3. Rebate @ Watson and Guardian ? Yes ... because @ the payment terminal ... it will use the same MCC code. You'll get the rebate either way ... I have bought vitamins, toothbrush, etc and get the rebate. Unless of course they have change the T&C. No harm actually ... it's either rebate or no rebate. Either way ... you would have need to pay for the items in full so I think there's no loss. The rebate is just a bonus.

1. PIN will be send via normal post later
2. I'd change to citibank cb plat via TM, call 100 & they just need your new card number etc.
3. chocolate, shampoo & everything will earn you 2%
Take note that the cash back will be only credited accumulation of RM50 but on the bottom of statement will show previous/current earn/total cash back

Applied before Raya. Whole process took more than one month. Appealed last month but still unsuccessful. Anyway, as the customer service officer said, please reapply 6 months later. That is what i am going to do. For the time being i'll just use this Citibank cash back VISA Platinum. After all it is better than my current HSBC MasterCard that gives no point for petrol. Besides, HSBC has recently increased the rewards points required to redeem a RM50/RM100 voucher vmad.gif

Anyway, i will still keep my HSBC MasterCard. Will use it for all other purchases that the Citibank Cash Back VISA Platinum only gives 0.3% cash back.

Thanks. I signed up for auto-debit through TM Point actually. The bill for October came out last week but i have not been billed yet. No sign of the RM2 rebate from TM either for signing up for auto-debit. I now wondered if TM has processed my auto-debit request ... kind of weird that the October bill has not been charged to my credit card yet.
