Not all banks practice this.
Just be aware that certain banks will impose penalties upon early settlement of installment scheme. (e.g Citibank)

Likely used by the bank as carrot for customer to switch over / customer retention rather than making money.

Need to check their T&C first. Normally when a cardholder holds a card, that's a good chance that he may use that card also for other normal transactions. Unless you burried it somewhere until you finish paying the debt.

I don't think you will get TP, any BT will not get points.

It didn't state whether there is any processing fees in their website (need to call CS) but I remember last time MBB got such fees on any BT or installment. Anyway, there might be some hidden T&C.

Maybank's BT page says ZERO processing fee... not sure if it applies to this promo 0% for 12 months BT.

Can we settle BT earlier for Maybank ?

if the BT is 0%, i don't find any reason to settle them earlier. hmm.gif if got extra money, i'll put it into time deposit rather than pay them.

It does not come with the statement. It is just a letter from SCB and it applies to any SCB card. Maybe this week we will see it on SCB website.

But you still need to pay the minimum 5% every month to the special BT account, right ?

I forgot ... there's a way the bank can make money from 0% BT.
Please check with the bank on how do they classify the payment hierarchy. Best if the BT is actually a separate account rather than part of the main cc account itself. If BT is part of the main cc account then please stop using the card until BT payments is complete otherwise you'll find interest slowly accumulating on your card due to the payment hierarchy issue.

yes, you are right. but then you can place your extra money in the time deposit by monthly & gain some extra monthly interest & withdraw 5% every month to pay the BT...anyhow, it's still better than settle with them earlier without gain. anyway, this is my sharing point of view, maybe somebody else got better idea... tongue.gif

If CIMB are desperate, they will approve your card. I gonna terminate them soon ... didn't give me any benefit also and didn't increase my limit since I hold their card for 2 years alr ..
