Nah I would say the Alliance cards have a bit more edge on Plats... (if you don't use them overseas tongue.gif)
*
As I had terminated my Alliance Younique MC and VISA Platinum, I hope somebody can again update forex exchange rate for Alliance cc. Alliance Platinum's cash back + 2x points for overseas spending + unlimited access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge makes this card attractive.

QUOTE(future80 @ Nov 8 2010, 08:16 PM)
regarding government want to increase minimum yearly income for credit card application, when is the exact date? next year right?
i heard citibank already stated, is it true?
*
Our government hasn't officially annouced anything yet. However, some banks have already taken cautious approach in proccessing cc applications.

Alliance Platinum cc that give access KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge is only from Business Platinum & not the ordinary plat, is it? And it says, access for first 150 person per month (not unlimited woh..).
And the cash back is only for interest paid only, not for new retail, is it?
Correct me if i'm wrong please...
*
You're totally wrong. smile.gif Alliance doesn't issue Business Platinum cards. As for the Alliance Platinum CCs, there is no limit on numbers of entries to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge nowadays. Besides, cash back is given to all retail transactions, including petrol and online purchases.

The RM5 should be the late payment penalty. Minimum payment should be 5% of outstanding balance or minimum RM50.

Can you please provide the link of what you mentioned as i can't find it, thanks... hmm.gif

Oops, Alliance Business Platinum card is a pretty new product. What I referred to is the normal Alliance Platinum cc. Just go to Alliance website and search for the list of cards under "Personal".

Here stated that cash rebate up to 2% for retail spending, means no carried forward balance is required for cash rebate.
However, there is no fine print showing that the cash rebate up to which limit (i think it is similar to younique card, where cash rebate is calculated for the rm5000 spending only. spending above rm5000 does not entitle to any  rebate.)

as for entry to airport lounge, i din see any there..
*
If you were with us since the last few versions of this thread, we had mentioned many times that Alliance's cash back is based on tiered system. The maximum rebates per month for Alliance Younique and Platinum are RM68.25 and RM68.75 respectively.

Previouly there was quota for Alliance Platinum cc on KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge access, but the quota had been removed since a few months ago. Just like SCB Platinum, Alliance Platinum cardholders can also enjoy unlimited entries to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Nov 8 2010, 09:59 PM)
That's me... I used their FREE RM200 and no longer using the SCB card..why don't I get selected?
*
It's sole decision by SCB. I also wish to be selected.

Hey , Would like just to inquire is it possible to apply for credit card when you switch job ??

I got my new company last month payslip and 2 months payslip from my previous employer, Though my salary dropped from 1.7k to 1.5k.
*
Why not? You may try Alliance Younique cc. But most of the banks may hesitate to grant approval due to your salary.

I am thinking to apply Alliance YouNique and terminate HLB Essential card. Is this a good move? As i got to know the 2% rebate from Alliance.
*
Don't be misled by the so-called 2% cash back. Its cash back rates are based on tiered system. You will get a maximum monthly rebate of RM68.25 if you spend RM5,000 and above. The maximum cash back is equivalent to 1.365%. However, if you are not a big spender, the cash back you get is very insignificant. Nevertheless, you do not loose anything as every RM1 you spend (except petrol) will also gives you 1 timeless bonus point.

Want to ask wthether can we enter the LCCT lounge by using SCB Business Platinum ?
*
QUOTE(alexwsk @ Nov 10 2010, 01:25 PM)
yes, and you can chk at 1st page
*
No. SCB Business Platinum cardholders can only be granted free access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge.

QUOTE(zenquix @ Nov 10 2010, 01:33 PM)
Actually according to the CS i talk to, it was no. LCCT is only for Alliance Personal Plat Card. Unless I misunderstood
*
There is a cap per month for Alliance Platinum Debit Card in LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge. It's 50 cardholders per month. The quota can finish within the first few days of the month.

before i apply for younique rebate card, i had done my own calculation.. basically, if your monthly spending is more than rm500 but less than rm8k, younique gives you more benefits. otherwise, hlb essential is better..
*
QUOTE(Gen-X @ Nov 9 2010, 11:12 PM)
Why you want to terminate HLB Essential? As winner mentioned, Alliance cash back is based on tier and unless you spend like RM5K the cash back not much. Based on your monthly transactions do make a comparison before applying for Allaince. And also Alliance CS sucks after 9pm.
*
If he can spend more than RM500 per month, Alliance Younique's rebate (cash back + points) will be higher than the 1% cash back given by HLB VISA Essential.

Minimum income requirement for the lowest ranked cc of MBB is RM30,000 per annum. You may give it a try, but the chance could be slim.

just noticed certain EON bank plat hv access to KLIA, LCCT, senai and changi with monthly limit

The best Platinum cards to be used for entering KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge are Amex, Alliance and SCB. There is no limit to how many times you can enter the lounge.

As for LCCT Plaza Premium Lounge, I guess only Amex Platinum gives UNLIMITED FREE ACCESS as far as I know.

QUOTE(dattebayo @ Nov 10 2010, 07:44 PM)
the thing is, MBB insist to see ur annual basic of RM30k, they don't care if u got RM1k of monthly allowance on top of it or not, they won't see it

No harm just to give it a try. They may give you an Amex Gold cc, who knows!

There is a total of 28 retail transactions in the current statement of my OCBC Titanium MC. It is so difficult to check which transactions were entitled to 5% cash back. If I calculated correctly, below are some transactions which were supposedly entitled to 5% cash back but were only given 1% rebate.

1. Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya
2. Hai-O Chain Store
3. House + Co, Bangsar Shopping Centre

Refer Standchart:

Simply apply for your Preferred World MasterCard Credit Card together with a Preferred M2 Account today. All you need is a minimum of RM72,000 in deposits and/or investments with us, or a minimum of RM400,000 in housing loans with us or a minimum annual income of RM72,000 to qualify.

Do MUST pledge a deposit 72k or invest or 400k housing loan with them? Or just normal annual income 72k eligible to apply?
*
QUOTE(ronnie @ Nov 15 2010, 02:50 PM)
My guess is that you satisfy any one of the below criteria:-
1. a minimum of RM72,000 in deposits and/or investments with us
2. a minimum of RM400,000 in housing loans with us
3. a minimum annual income of RM72,000
*
For the very first year, you don't need to fulfill the requirement of item (1) or (2) as long as you are able to show proof of an annual income of RM72,000. However for second year onwards, you must fulfill the requirement of either (1) or (2), or else a heavy penalty will be charged.

go browse few pages back ok? the best card for petrol is DA Mastercard & OCBC Titanium. rebates on all petrol station. but if u just use petronas then go for that MBB Petronas ~
*
Your answer was not quite correct. The best CCs which give good rebates (5%) for all petrol stations are OCBC Titanium and Citibank Platinum Cash Back. DA MC only gives 2% cash back for petrol purchases.

Some banks will charge you early exit penalty. But some banks won't impose this charge. You need to check with the respective bank for confirmation.

Cash back for petrol is the permanent feature of Citibank Cash Back Platinum. The rebate promotion you referred to is actually the RM60 rebate as welcome gift to those newly approved cards. Also, AF for Citibank CCs can be easily waived by just a call to the CS of Citibank.
