why UOB not approved? its very rare bank not approved flexi-pay (btw UOB terms is EPP - Easy Payment Plan. flexi use by CIMB).

ok now, if u not paying in full, u will be charged 13.5% per annum (assume u always pay full before this), and u wont get 20 days interest-free period!

let say u purchase the camera rm3500 on 18 nov. ur statement date is 28 nov and due date 19 dec.
so by 19 dec u pay ur statement, and still have balance (oustanding) rm2000.
then, any transaction between starting 29 nov till u finish ur outstanding will get interest!

Calculations too optimistic coz it assumes that he had 12 consecutive payments to only be charged 13.5% per annum interest on outstanding.
I'd recommend using 17.5% as the interest rate for the sake of calculation.

BTW @nicholastze85, is there any info you left out that make the bank did not approve your flexi-pay ?
- Did you have enough CL ?
- How's yr payment history with the bank ?
- etc ?

The guys here are right ... almost 99.99% bank will approve flexi-pay is everything is OK unless there's something wrong with your cc account.

after i settle the amount, i will definitely cancel my credit card...

UOB SUCKSSSS

Added on December 6, 2010, 12:47 pmwhy uob suck??

1. 29 Oct 2010- before i bought the dslr, i call the customer service to confirm is it the shop is under black list - NO , apply easy payment..
2. The customer service said if i didnt received any call within 1 week of purchase thats mean my easy payment approve.. I have double request to call me if the easy payment cancel...
3. Statement - 4 Nov 2010 - Got written clearly my easy payment approve.
4. 8 Nov- Suddenly cancel my my easy payment witout notice/ inform, ask me to make full payment..

FYI, the customer service said easy payment 99% is goin to b approve if the shop is not under blacklist ..
I have credit limit rm 4000 .. Just apply few week ago before purchase the dslr on 29 oct..
The dslr is my 1st thing to buy using UOB credit card.. i have no debt...

Calculate the interest this way ... (RM3500 X 17.5%) / 12 and that is your rough estimate of the interest per month.
Total interest would be x3.

One possibility is that for flexi-pay the CL allowed is sometimes not 100%. Perhaps the bank only allow 80-85% utilization of the credit limit for flexi-pay. With RM4000 CL, the highest would be only RM3400. That is the only reason that I could think of that caused the flexi-pay to be rejected.

If not mistaken, most banks have Easy Payment Plan (EPP) and Flexi Payment Plan (FPP).

EPP - 0% interest and auto installment. No need to call bank to convert.

FPP - With certain upfront charges or interest. Need to call bank to convert to FPP once the amount charge to the card.

Yes this is the reason. Anyway, TS's fault for not getting enough information.

Look at the clause number 4. Only 80% of the CL is allow.

I just wanna share my experience. I own a UOB card with credit limit only 3k. That time I wanna buy a laptop that cost me around RM 2,950. THen I phone to UOB and asked can I convert to FPP after I swipe the amount. They said can. Afterward I went to swipe the RM 2,950 and call them to convert. FYI,my transaction successful to convert to FPP.

That all.

Hi all,

I need some explanation from MBB agent, if any:

Currently I am having Petronas Gold CC. They say we can withdraw cash from the machine as well.

My bf said the day he went to MBB center, the lady said there would be no extra charge until the day you received the statement and made ur payment. If let say I withdraw 2k, by the dateline, if I make full payment of 2k, there will be no interest. However, if by the dateline, I only make payment of 1k, I will be applied interest. Is that true?

Somehow, I called up MBB Customer Service

The lady there mentioned

When you withdraw the money , 5% of the full amount will be charged
Plus, everyday since the day you withdraw the money until the day you completely pay the whole amount, there will be 0.18% of ( full amount + 5% of full amount ) implies every-single-day

Which is true ?

We try withdrawing 1000MYR last week Thursday.

Appreciate if anyone can enlighten me.

I'm not any agent or banker. But should be the 2nd one. It it known as cash advance from credit card. 5% will be charge from the amount you withdraw. Then the interest rate is the normal credit card rate.

You can withdraw cash with your CC and you'll be charged interest as mentioned by MBB cs. Do not withdraw cash with CC, if you have done go, better you go settle in full immediately.

And also next time, do take the time to read the T&C that comes with the card.

Maybe you should read my blog on Intro to CC 101, click below at my sign.

19th Nov 2010 - Online application for CIMB DA Plat CC to mktgda@cimb.com
A couple of days later, CIMB DA CS called me for some verification
25th Nov 2010 - Got my DA CC approved
6th Dec 2010 - Received my card (the letter is dated 25th Nov 2010), cause they are using normal post, so it takes almost to weeks to reach East Msia

Well done CIMB DA! Their credit limt is really more generous, about 2.6X my salary while my HSBC only give me 1.6X my salary.

No, never.
Of course you don't send a very high resolution scanned image to the bank. Make it less than 500KB per document and everything should be OK.
