How do I activate my Citi credit card for Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode?

During your first online purchase you will be asked to confirm your identity by answering several safety questions (confidentiality of this information is of course assured through the site’s security) and then be requested to create a personal password. You must of course use your password wisely and keep it secret.

Once your card has been activated, all participating internet shops can recognise you as a card holder. You will be asked to give your password during future online purchases. This confirms that you are the authorised card holder and your payment can be made. The merchant will not get to see your password.

Dude, Citibank Malaysia doesn't offer this kind of service yet. And you should refer to a local Citibank website and not Citibank Belgium.

I don't want to disclose my income, hence, i used fixed deposit pledge for my Eon credit card.

If i am not mistaken, you cannot use a secured credit card to apply for another credit card.

it's hard to get approved it i use 3 months credit card statements without income document? sad.gif
You don't need to give your credit card statement. Just a photocopy of the card will do. However, most banks would require you to use it for more than 1 year before you can use your existing as a reference in applying for a new credit card from another bank.

Good day, I'm planning to apply a classic credit card. Currently planning to apply one at CIMB bank.

The online form shows anual fee is free for life but the website shows only for platinum cards. http://www.cimbbank.com.my/index.php?ch=cb...&tpt=cimb_bank#

Can any CIMB classic card holders clarify this? Also, how is their customer service as I have heard a lot of bad rumours about them.
No worries. All principal MasterCard from CIMB Bank is free for life. I am 100% sure on this smile.gif

As for customer service, well, those working at the branch are always very slow. The call centre however, generally is ok.

I can confirm that CIMB Enrich MC is not free for life, as my colleague had just paid the AF. Perhaps he did not request for AF waiver. Unlike other CIMB/DA CCs, AFs are automatically waived without sending a request.
Oh right. I forgot about the CIMB Enrich MasterCard.

Actually you can pay all other utility bills (which TMPoint accepts) and get 5% cashback
You can't pay for other bills at TM Point using credit card.

Alternatively, just insert your credit card into the cash deposit machine card slot smile.gif

Inserting cc into a CDM adds a risk of 'stuck'. When ur cc is stuck at non-working hours, u have no choice but report to card centre (lost or stuck?)(telco fees??)and risk your card being stolen or fraud by experienced syndicates. Therefore it is not advised to do so.
But with those new Wincor Nixdorf machines, this rarely happens nowadays. The newer generation Wincor Nixdorf is designed to retain your card only if you've keyed in the wrong PIN for 3 times (unless set differently by the ATM operator). New ATM nowadays is also designed to eject your card automatically if there is something wrong with the ATM or power failure in the middle of a transaction thumbup.gif When i still had a CIMB MasterCard last time, i did this all the time. Save me the fuss of having to key in the credit card numbers manually sweat.gif

By the way, card stuck in the machine also rarely happens unless you are talking about the old NCR cash deposit machines and cash withdrawal machines.

I think for local banks only MBB, PBB, and CIMB using cheque scan. Citibank still using envelope even though they were the first to have the cheque machines. The new Citibank branch in USJ even worse...cheque drop-in only.
Public Bank uses only the touch screen machine that provides the image of the deposited cheque while Maybank and CIMB Bank use both the old cheque drop box as well as the touch screen machine. Anyway, Maybank and CIMB Bank still use mostly the old cheque drop box.

I know that the cards issued by Islamic banking, such as HSBC Amanah, Maybank Islamic, cannot be used to buy liquor, but can it be used to buy stuff like non-halal food like pork, book hotels which is owned by gambling business (like Genting), can or not??
Using credit card issued by HSBC Amanah or Maybank Islamic to pay for liquor or non-halal food like pork should not be a problem if you're buying the above mentioned things in a supermarket. Not too sure about Genting though.

In SG, need SGD200K to qualify for Privilege Banking where as here only RM200K (less than half here).
Did they reduce the eligibility criteria for Privilege Banking in UOB Malaysia ? Because from what i know is that both the Singaporean banks (UOB and OCBC) require a minimum deposit of RM300k to be eligible for UOB Privilege Banking/OCBC Premier Banking.

ive redeemed rm50 gst from my hsbc..and they credited rm50 to my cc...total amount i need to pay for that month is 660++..but become rm610xx...after minus rm50 they credited to me..

If you intend to pay in full, you should pay the amount stated in the statement balance column.

yup..im always pay full..just this time got confuse bout the GST..

i should pay or not RM50??  hmm.gif
If the RM50 tax appears on the same statement as the RM50 tax that you redeemed which has also been credited into your account, it means they have already deducted the RM50 from your statement balance. If your current statement balance is showing RM660+, then you will have to pay RM660+. Should they have not deducted the RM50 tax, it should appear as RM710+.

HSBC gst will be charged 1 month after expiry date. if ur expiry is 09/14 then the gst will be on ur Oct statement, not Sept.

u should redeem gst50 AFTER it shows at ur statement. like me, i did pay full amount 1st (the last day of due date) then redeem gst50 (before next statement). so my next statement got rebate rm50 and extra rm50 will be deducted to next statement.

do u pay early? if yes, pls call HSBC helpline
He already redeemed the credit card tax last month ... before the actual credit card tax is billed. And since they have credited the credit card tax that he redeemed last month.

yup..i redeemed in advance...and have been calling their helpline..

so, my golden question is..do i need to pay for this or not??

i really a bit failed in this things actually... laugh.gif
You need to pay what is stated in your statement balance. This is because the credit card tax you redeemed earlier has already been deducted from your statement balance. You can do the calculation yourself and you will find out that they have already deducted the RM50 from your statement balance.
